The Boss gaze is fixed on her Mr. Boss, as he's known to his associates, is a towering figure, with a cold, steely gaze. He sits behind his desk, a cigarette dangling from his lips, smoke curling around his head like a serpent. He takes a long drag, his eyes never leaving Sarah's face. She's starting to feel dizzy from the smoke, and her mouth is dry.

"When my boss deems me worthy, I will be promoted." Dad paused, setting down his utensils to look at me directly. "Boss? I fail to understand why you are working under someone when you could be running the entire Clarins empire." "Dad, please. I enjoy working for the company. My boss is fantastic," I defended. He raised an eyebrow. "So you are content to use your talents to benefit someone else's company rather than your own?" "That's your company, not mine," I muttered under my breath. Shaking his head, Dad exhaled. "Anyway, tell me, how long do you plan to work there?"

I still remembered the way he looked at me, his eyes dark with something deep, something heavy. “I want you,” he had said, his voice low and certain. And I had fallen. Just like that. Like an idiot. But Boss was different. His seriousness wasn’t careful or sweet. It was dangerous. It was possessive, consuming. Like he already knew I would give in. Like I was already his. And maybe I was. I clenched my fists, trying to ignore the heat rising in my chest. I should leave. I should say something professional, set boundaries, remind him that I was just his assistant.

His admission was raw and honest, and I felt a pang of guilt. "But he's just a friend and aside I don’t have s close relationship with you more than being a boss. So…why?" I protested, trying to reassure him even though I didn’t know why. His gaze never wavered. "I don't care if he's just a friend. I don't want him with you." His words were possessive, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. My mind was reeling, trying to process what he was saying. And then he dropped the bombshell. "And maybe I could be more than just a boss to you." His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt like he was seeing right through me.

The Boss’s grip on his coffee tightened. Below, Jaylen approached Rico with a rag slung over his shoulder. They spoke quietly, too quiet for the Boss to hear, but he didn’t need to. He saw the easy way Rico’s mouth curved at whatever joke Jaylen made. Saw Jaylen’s hand brush Rico’s shoulder as they worked side by side. Something hot flared in his chest. Not lust and not exactly. "Possession!" His eyes tracked every movement, every laugh, every flicker of Rico’s eyes towards anyone else. It was irrational — he knew that. The boys belonged to him, the shop belonged to him and everything here belonged to him.

There was a smile on her face. "Well, my dear, I am the boss,” Michael said with full of authority as he kissed her hard once and let his hand drift lower, “Remember that it means I have to be good at everything I put my mind to. That includes pleasuring the exotic beauty that I have in front of me now, Bella."

I just wanted to look into her eyes, to see if she wanted this as much as I did. I wasn't disappointed, I could see the same lust I felt reflected in her almost desperate gaze.
