3rd person POV The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of the machines. Vivian lay unconscious on the bed, her face pale, a white bandage covering the wound on her head. Max stood at the edge of the room, his hands in fists, watching as the doctors and nurses worked quickly to stabilize her. “She’s stable for now,” The doctor said, checking her IV. “She needs rest and observation, but we’ve done all we can for the moment.”

The wheels bumped lightly over the new flooring as I directed them to the large room Andy had set aside for her—sunlit, quiet, and far enough from the main activity zones that she could rest without constant interruption. The bed wasn’t anything like the ones we’d used after patrol injuries. This one had clearly been picked with care—high-quality foam mattress, built-in controls for elevation, lumbar support, and adjustable rails. It even had a rolling over-bed tray, still wrapped in sterile plastic, waiting to be assembled.

Isabelle POV- I wake up in what I can guess is a hospital room as I am attached to so much equipment. I can feel someone holding my hand and I look to the side and there is a man he looks familiar, but his head is laid on a pillow so I don’t see his face. He is asleep on the hospital chair recliner. I look around and there are so many people asleep in chairs and on the couch in this room. I make contact with a face I recognize and call out to him.

As she delicately touches my shoulder, she says something calming in a low voice. "Wake up, Kimberly!" I gradually opened my eyes by rubbing them with both hands. Many things have changed in the last few years, and the hospital room now resembles a garden. The roof is transparent, creating the feeling that you are outdoors. The bed is still made of metal, but technology has advanced so much. The bed looks to be bamboo, warm and rustic to the touch and sight. When the first pilot hospital adopted this, there was a lot of debate about how expensive it would be, but the results spoke for themselves. Stays are shorter, recovery is quicker, and depression is non-existent.

LAUN'S POV. The hotel wasn't my standard but I had no choice. I wasn't in my city so I just had to settle for this since I didn't know anywhere around. At least I should be grateful that I found one close to the hospital that Klevis was being treated. I had dinner earlier even though I didn't have the appetite too, now I was just on the not so comfortable bed struggling to have a proper nap. I didn't know if it was the bedsheet that wasn't fully cotton or maybe the issue was from the type of bed. Something was just off. I wasn't comfortable.

With my head held high and sunglasses shielding my eyes, I proceeded to the designated ward to locate her. Upon entering the ward, I noticed four beds positioned opposite each other, totalling eight beds separated by curtains for privacy. The patients appeared to be women in their sixties or seventies, all dressed in the hospital's attire. Some had companions assisting them with tasks like feeding. Approaching them, I greeted a few patients before reaching her bedside. She lay curled up on her bed, gazing out the window, the last bed by the window, isolated without anyone to attend to her needs like the other patients.

The room was unfamiliar and to understand where I was, I looked to the side, and I saw a wide window showing me the daytime brightness and buildings close by and in the distance. I looked to the other side and realized from the IV pole and bag, the small wardrobe across the room, the leather couches close by and the large TV screen on the wall, that I was in a hospital. I looked down at my body and saw I was laying on a large hospital bed.

Chapter 15 Tanya's pov I wake up after some time, I don't know how much, by a beeping sound near my ear. I groan in frustration and look at it, finding the sound coming from the hospital machines. My eyes widen and I try to look at my surroundings, my jaw hitting the ground with how luxurious the room is. Even though it's just a hospital room, it has a couch, two comfortable beds including the one I am laying on, a nightstand, two windows with beautiful floral curtains, a television, an air conditioner and a restroom. It feels as if this is not a hospital room but a VIP hotel room. But the white walls and the white bedsheets make this room a hospital room. I can't believe he spent so much mo

She turned toward the door and noticed her husband gazing down at her with worry. "Hey, sleeping beauty, sorry to disturb your sleep. Are you okay?" Ralph asked, reaching for the handheld remote attached to the side rail of the hospital bed. With a gentle press, the motorized whirr of the bed began to hum softly. The upper portion of the bed slowly elevated, lifting Silva’s upper body with a smooth, mechanical glide.

She wondered as she crossed to sit on the bed and remove her shoes. They had removed the wheeled hospital bed from the room and had replaced it with a simple wrought iron bedframe and mattress pilfered from the eternally useful MegaStore, creating a simple but comfortable bedroom for the two of them. Connery had selected crisp white linens and a bedspread in a deep blood red and tossed overtop several faux fur blankets that made the simple bed seem luxurious and inviting.
