I lifted my head to see what happened to Apocalypse. To my surprise was there a big hole in the ceiling and lots of debris and rubble mixed with wooden beams. I got up and walked over to what was over of the ceiling. I heard some groans coming from under the debris. Apocalypse was barely alive and stuck under big stone pieces and wooden beams. “You have to do better and more than this to stop me, you pathetic woman.” She coughed and spitted a clot of blood.

Once the sun rose, the horrible heatwave would spread across the Earth. "Will I really be able to make it until help arrives?" I mumbled to myself. Even though I had informed my family about this the first minute I was reborn, I wondered if they had enough time to hoard provisions in one day. Everyone was still able to survive with air conditioning at the beginning of the heat apocalypse because there was still water and electricity. However, all electronic equipment stopped working after a week, and every drop of water had evaporated because of the high heat. Once that happened, it became hell on Earth!

“This shouldn’t be happening for months.” A distant siren wailed somewhere across the sleeping city. Caleb’s expression darkened. “Your return fractured the timeline.” The wind howled violently through the harbor. Not only that, but the setting will be post-apocalyptic, where the survivors have varying degrees of psychic powers. Most people will have low-level abilities, such as telepathy and empathy. Some will have incredible powers able to manipulate the physical world with their minds, such as telekinesis and precognition. A handful will be able to literally warp what’s real with a thought (sometimes carelessly). The novel will explore similar themes of power and corruption, but mostly fresh ones regarding reality and perception. Specifically, the differences between natural reality vs manufactured reality, and truth vs disinformation. Kinda like what we’re seeing politically across the globe.

After returning to Camp Arthor, I settled all of Sasha's paperwork and placed her at the hospital while Leo stayed by my side and followed me around.
