MY TABOO STEP DADDY
I push past the snow-covered ground, the sound of sirens sifting from afar.
The boot slams open. The body of some priest who called me ‘Twisted’ last night. Wrong word choice. I showed him twisted. Now he’ll serve one final purpose: giving Mad-Bishop the funeral he deserves. Poetic, really. A man of God dying in the devil’s place.
The men gag, faces scrunched, fighting the urge to vomit. If they do, they'll join him.
“Move,” I say. “To the woods now. Five minutes, not even a second should pass.”
