The baby slept soundly in the crib. From behind, Leonard gently embraced me. "What's on your mind?" I turned around with a smile. "Just thinking about how lucky I am." He lowered his head and kissed my forehead, his voice oozing with tenderness. "It's not because you're lucky, but because you deserve this. Karli, I promise to make you the happiest woman for the rest of our lives." In the end, love and compassion healed all wounds.

Her questions had affirmed his need to carry out the mission he had planned. He pressed her deeper into his body and spoke. " This time, there wont be anything illegal. I promise. I will be safe and will come back to you all pieces intact. What you can do for me is to take care of yourself. What I need from you is a promise that you will wait for me and that whatever happens, you will trust me. Do not let anything make you lose your faith in me. I promise to not disappoint you. Can you do that for me?"

I struggled to break free, but he held me even closer and I burst out crying “It'll all be over soon,” he murmured, his breath brushing against my ear. “Everything will return to normal. The pain will fade .” His voice trembled with emotion, and I could feel his heart pounding against mine. I pressed my face against his chest, allowing his words to wash over me. “You’ll be alright,” he said, his voice faltering. “I promise.” But will I truly be alright?

That you will happy, no matter what… promise me.” “No,” I disagreed, not wanting to entertain the thoughts raging in me. “I will be fine, because you will be here. No need to make any promises,” “Pr-promise me!” he groaned out, his tone wanting to be firmer as pains from that little movement coursed through him. “Promise me…”

That boy is on the verge of death, and he needs to be saved no matter what happens. "Let's strike a deal, Alpha... I will give you the antidote if you do what I want. Now, I need you to let me go. “I need you to make a magical promise. I need you to vow that you won't hurt me or anyone I love anymore. I need that sense of safety. Please, it’s been years now. Let me go.”
