My boyfriend, Marcus Reid, had hearing loss, so he often couldn’t make out what I said. I asked him to buy a skincare set, but he came home with two. "I must have heard you wrong again. I'll just give the extra one to Lauren." I asked him to buy a chocolate cake, but he came home with vanilla. "I heard you wrong. Lauren likes this flavor, l'll just give it to her." Later, I carefully designed our future home and asked him to buy a house for us in Southville. But on the day we were supposed to inspect the house, he drove us all the way to Northville instead. When he noticed that I hadn't said a word the entire time, he apologized, "I'm really sorry. I didn't hear you clearly. I thought you li

So now that I knew about Cecelia, he could forget about holding onto hope. I'd made myself clear. Whatever love we'd had? Completely gone—buried under the weight of my hatred. Neil finally sighed, his voice breaking. "I can't give you everything. If I do, my family's ruined. SchmidtCorp will collapse. I can't let that happen." "Then I'll see you in court," I said flatly. I glanced at Maya, who gave me a quick nod. We were done here. No point dragging this out. I stood to leave.

I never told hervtonlkeace but I want some time to.....till then how can I leave her alone hmm " " Ooh! so you are still thinking about the promise." " No...... you were right that day, the promise is just a word, but in relationships, we don't have to promise others to fulfil the responsibility. In the family we have to accept the responsibilities to love and care for each other, being there in hard times to support each other. It's not compulsory to entangle yourself in a promise, as there are many unknown promises in your

Truckload after truckload of my goods was shipped to his factory, and the contract clearly stated in black and white that payment would be settled monthly within 30 days. The payment didn't come through in the first month. I assumed it was just slow internal accounting and didn't follow up. The payment still didn't arrive in the second month. I had my finance department call to inquire, and I was told, "Mr. Liam is on a business trip. He'll sort it out when he returns." By the third month, the outstanding balance for all three shipments had piled up to nearly 400,000 dollars. "Mr. Lucius." My accountant, William Jefferson, stood before my desk with a troubled look. Once Lotta was settled, he'd make it right with the biggest ceremony. He paced anxiously. "We'll go once Kimberly is safe." Lotta pouted. "But you promised. Every minute we're late means I see less of the northern lights." "They won't disappear if we're a bit late. Don't you have any conscience?" Richard snapped, losing it for a second. Lotta burst into frightened tears. "I-I didn't mean it. I just want to finish your promise on the bucket list sooner, so our lost baby in heaven knows his dad loved us."

“You know what you’re stepping into, right? Once this goes out, there’s no undoing it.” She met his gaze. “You think I care about undoing? I’ve spent half my life cleaning up the messes of men who promised the world and handed me lies instead. This—” she gestured around the room “—isn’t just about us anymore.” He didn’t argue. He knew better now. By morning, the city was gray and hollow. They’d worked through the night, sending fragments of data to encrypted cloud drives, contacting the few allies Nathan still trusted.

“Keep my promise. I need something from you.” Catalina reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out a small piece of paper. “Is this what you need?” I reached for the paper and unfolded it. Camila’s phone number was written on it. “Thank you. Does this mean we have your support?” “It means I want you both to be happy, but the repercussions of this union, of stopping Rei, may be more than our family can withstand.” Closing my fingers around the paper, I leaned down and brushed Ariadna’s soft dark peach-fuzz crown with my lips and smiled at Catalina. “I have to try.”

Back then, love felt like the whole world. She even heard his old promise: he'd give up the Rocca name before he'd give up her. But when it mattered, he chose it over her. Cruel, how fate played it. The next morning, Bella sat down to breakfast when the maid approached. "Ms. Beaufort, the man from yesterday was taken to the hospital." Bella thought it might feel satisfying. He gazed at the girl who had turned him down time and again, looking at him with eyes that seemed to plead for something more. A wild sense of triumph surged through him. However, the regret came crashing down soon after. Janet held him close, whispering that she would not blame him for anything. However, Alfred could not shake the guilt. He never imagined I would catch him in the act with Janet, that my suspicions were not just misunderstandings. I had witnessed his betrayal firsthand.
