Then all that she saw...it was a prediction of the future!? Qing Yue's eyes widened in horror and she shakily stepped back. No...she didn't want to...she didn't want any part in whatever future that was...!

She felt a premonition that something far from good was about to happen. It must be something to do with the moons and their orbit, she realised. There would be occasional encounters that she would feel some clairvoyance, although such occurrences did not happen very often. Her hunch had been accurate before, and this time, the feeling she had was way more powerful than how she had sensed before. She was adamant that something grim would happen this time, but she couldn’t stay for much longer in the temple. The temple made her feel eerie at times, and the bathroom had already interfered with her magic.

"It felt like a premonition." With a sigh, Brock propped himself up on his elbow, looming over me like a protective sentinel. "Stephanie, if something is frightening you, we'll face it together—as we always do." His pledge lingered in the air as I nestled back into his chest, letting the steady beat of his heart lull my swirling thoughts. Me, laying in the grass dreaming about touching the sky. Family dinner, church, my friendly neighbours then a tree with long weeping branches. A monster

Perhaps all this was coming from the fact that I was thinking about all of this too far without thinking about the consequences. “What do you want to say?" He was quick to ask. "Well, I have been having these visions…" I muttered “I don't understand. " He chuckles “You promised. " I snapped playfully. “I am sorry. I just found it amusing." “Well, it is not really a dream. They are more like premonitions." I continued. " How will people here see me if they get to know me?” For what like minutes he was quiet. “Do you get a good answer to what I just asked?” I questioned again

A chill ran down my spine. If that was true, then whatever had happened to Viola was no small matter. The bond in my chest pulsed again. This time it was gentle. Almost like the touch of tiny fingers, not yet strong enough to grasp. I stopped again, my breath hitching. The thunder in my chest grew louder. “What is this?” I whispered, clutching my rapidly beating heart. Jacob answered in a voice barely above silence. “A premonition.” “A premonition of what?” I frowned, still confused.

"The first is stillness. Not physical. Mental. You stop trying to produce anything and observe the probability field around you." Kael looked at her. Tried not to think about late nights, closed hotels, language barriers, or the fact that I was suddenly very aware of how far from home I was. Then my phone buzzed in my hand. The vibration was sharp and sudden, cutting through the quiet like a warning bell. Relief surged instinctively as I glanced down. Good, I thought. Information. Solutions. It evaporated instantly. Like maybe they would rearrange themselves into something less final.

Monday 5pm I should have known the quiet was just too quiet. That stillness before something bad always carries its own stench, one your body can’t help but recognize even if your brain refuses to admit it. You know the feeling… the one like how animals go quiet just before they scurry away as a disaster hits. How their survival instinct kicks in to save the furry little buggers.

I gagged, bile rising in my throat, and clutched my stomach as a wave of nausea rolled through me. “What...was that?” My voice trembled, the words barely escaping my dry, cracked lips. Aryna’s presence stirred in the back of my mind, her tone gentle yet laced with concern. “Was it a nightmare?” I shook my head weakly, the motion making me dizzy. “No,” I croaked, barely able to get the word out. “Not just a nightmare. A premonition.” I sat frozen for several moments, the weight of the fear suffocating. Though the details of the dream had already begun to slip away, the residual terror clung to me, gnawing at the edges of my sanity.
