Hellblades
The dolphins whistled below, circling the pier, their voices sharp and insistent.
The fisherman who held me glanced down, wide-eyed. “They brought her here… Allah protect us, they saved her.”
As if in thanks, the other man tossed a handful of fish from a bucket into the water. The dolphins leapt to catch them, chattering gleefully before slipping back into the deep, vanishing toward the horizon.
I tried to lift my hand toward them, but it trembled uselessly. “Thank you…” I whispered, though they were already gone.
