The Forgotten King

The Forgotten King

The difference between lonely and alone ever-present in my mind. Until my map of the stars flashes. Now there is one less soul on the mortal plane. One more name to my list. My list of stars and tonight there's another star tonight. A new one. Then the sky is silent. A different silence than my empty tower. This type of quiet is filled with anticipation. Waiting for the star's first words. I forge my way over to my window. Ready for whatever I am going to see. Yet, what happens I was not prepared for. It's odd and new.

The Rose Luna

The Rose Luna

Unknown I’ve been waiting in these woods for over three hours, hidden among the shadows, my patience wearing thin but my focus unshaken. The damp earth clung to my skin as I crouched low, eyes scanning the landscape, ears attuned to every sound. The forest hummed with life - the rustling of leaves, the steady trickle of water from a nearby fountain, the soft thrum of deer moving through the grass. But none of those sounds mattered. I was waiting for one thing.

SEDUCING MY BESTFRIEND'S BROTHER

SEDUCING MY BESTFRIEND'S BROTHER

Turned to page forty-seven. The poem was twelve lines about waiting — not the passive kind, not the resigned kind, but the active patient kind that knew what it was waiting for and held itself ready. The kind that understood the difference between waiting because you had no choice and waiting because you had chosen to and the thing you were waiting for was worth every day of the choosing. I read it twice. Then I set the book down on the window table and looked out at the January street and thought about ten days and active patient waiting and a man who had underlined nothing but had handed me exactly the right page.

Désiré Me 2

Désiré Me 2

Diane The suite is too silent. A cathedral silence, heavy, where every sound from the city below seems muffled by the thick silk curtains and deep carpets. I remain standing before the picture window, my palms still pressed against the cold glass, until the heat of my skin leaves two fleeting halos of mist. Time stretches, elastic. I could stay like this for an eternity, a statue of satin and diamonds in its jewel box. But I know this is only a respite. Waiting is part of the ritual.

Waiting for a Love That Never Comes

Waiting for a Love That Never Comes

He held the doll out to me. I pulled my hand back. It fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. The atmosphere in the room instantly turned tense and suffocating. He had already been on the verge of losing his temper, but he forced it down and said patiently, “If you don’t like dolls anymore, then what do you like? I’ll buy it for you. Okay?” I smiled faintly. “I don’t need anything. I’m not interested in what you buy.” Julian let out a tired sigh, assuming I was still sulking. Realizing he could not talk me around, he became a little irritated.

Howl for Justice

Howl for Justice

My heart pounds faster, faster, faster. The forest is silent and waiting, waiting and still and holding its breath. The world waits, and I wait with it, wait with it like I have any choice, any choice at all. The world waits, and it is more than I expect, more than I can bear, more than I think, more than I know, more than I know how to wait, how to wait for. The forest is quiet, quiet with the anticipation, with the anticipation of the rest of this, of the rest of my heart, of the rest of my life, of the rest of me.

Caged In his Paradise

Caged In his Paradise

In the stillness of night, she waits, Her heart heavy with longing and ache, Her love lies in slumber, in death's embrace, But hope flickers, refusing to break. With each passing hour, she holds his hand, Whispering words of love, soft and grand, Her tears fall like petals, delicate and true, As she prays for his awakening, for love renewed . In this realm of love, she patiently resides, With unwavering faith, her heart abides,
