Falling for Sakura

Falling for Sakura

Brenda finally returned from the kitchen with a bowl of hot pumpkin soup, two aspirin tablets, and a glass of water. “You’re sick?” Conrad asked. “Headache,” she said, picking up the tablets. She swallowed those quickly and then drank some water. Once she was done with that, she dug into her soup, savoring the smooth, rich taste of pumpkin and cream. Halfway, she glanced up and noted the brothers were watching her, their eyes intense, as if they’d never seen anyone eating before. She wiped her mouth and said, “You guys aren’t eating?” “We had ours,” Logan said, stroking Toby’s head. And Toby agreed with a loud bark.

The Bitten and the Born

The Bitten and the Born

It was chill on the air this night while a soft fire glowed in the hearth. The soup still boiling, Mama asked Raven, “You can’t forget to stir. My dear child, I hope you’ve absorbed all these books. You’ve read them many times.” Alexandre looked wistfully at the pot. This soup had been cooking ever since they settled here. The cabin was half covered by moss and Ivy when she acquired it. The wild flowers grew and the trees made a dome of beautiful protection. The Forrest has only grown since then. The magic has filled the space with such a warm safe feeling.

The Alphas Little Warrior

The Alphas Little Warrior

I guess now I’ll be able to say I went without food for 3 days as well. I pulled one of the books off the shelf, rolling my eyes at the title, “Cooking for the beginner.” I chuckled, “unless you have water dishes in you, you’ll be of no use to me.” I flipped to the first page and began reading. The book was about different herbs and spices that could be used to create soups. Bringing the book over to the desk, I opened the cabinet and began sniffing the contents to identify each one. I wrote them all down on a piece of paper numbered the way I placed them back into the cabinet. I bit of pride bloomed in my chest and Scarlett chuckled, “that was all me, don’t be so proud of yourself.”

This book is great. Tenderness, yarning, caring ML, badass FML, adorable child character, likable supporting characters, and humor. There's an annoying subplot at the beginning, but don't let that put you off—it's definitely worth reading on.

OUR MOON HAS STRINGS

she muttered, coughing lightly as she walked to the kitchen. The moment she stepped in, a strange, sharp smell hit her nose. She winced. “What on earth are you making? It reeks.” The head servant blinked. “Really? It’s pumpkin soup.” She looked at the others in the room for confirmation. “I supervised it myself. Nothing’s off.” Valery waved a hand in front of her face, struggling. “Throw in basil or something. I can’t stand it.” She hurried to grab a bottle of water, turning away just as a violent gag rose up her throat.

I wish it were you

I wish it were you

She had to admit—the soup turned out quite well today. She had learned this recipe from her foodie friend, Julissa. Annabelle was good at brewing medicinal soups but not at regular cooking. Medicinal soups were simply boiled—whether bitter or slightly sweet didn’t matter, as long as they were effective. Cooking, however, required precise control of heat and ingredients. Julissa was particularly skilled in that area. Julissa had told her that this sea cucumber, mushroom, and chicken soup recipe came from a historical romance novel. In the story, a modern-day girl had time-traveled to the past and won over her powerful prince by making him delicious meals every day.

Wish Granted: No Longer Your Luna

Wish Granted: No Longer Your Luna

There was a few seconds of silence on the line, followed by the click of her hanging up. I put the phone face down on the counter. I made Lily a ham and egg sandwich and a bowl of creamy pumpkin soup. "Wow! Pumpkin soup!" I ladled out a bowl, blew on it to cool it down, and set it in front of her. She held the bowl with both hands, taking small sips. Her eyes crinkled into little crescents as she smiled. Looking at her face, my chest felt warm. Then, another memory crashed into my mind. The long table at the Blackwood packhouse. Margaret sitting at the head, her mouth pulling down in a sneer when she saw the pumpkin soup I served. "What is this? Food for an omega?"

The Alpha's Unwanted Plus-Size Bride

"You know, Elowen, Caelan actually makes the best pumpkin soup himself. He used to cook it for me whenever my cycles were rough. He really is a passionate beast when he wants to be." Her proximity made my skin crawl. I frowned, shifting my weight to move away from her, but the bench was narrow. "Ah!" A sudden, sharp movement jarred the table. In a split second, my entire bowl of boiling pumpkin soup was knocked over, spilling directly onto my lap.

The CEO’s Secret Triplets

Leo stopped his spoon three inches from his mouth, his blue eyes lifting to fix on Lucas’s face with a sharp, protective curiosity. "No," Dante said. He didn't use a soft translation or a child’s metaphor. He leaned his elbow on the table, bringing his face down until he was square with the boy. "Thomas grows the pumpkins by the lower ridge. He doesn't have a laboratory, and he doesn't keep a ledger." "Martha had a ledger," Lucas murmured, his finger tracing a small, circular knot in the pine wood of the table. "With the red lines."

I love the fact that Bella is hard on Dante and doesn't act like the victim that doesn't use his/her head. She establishes a clear line between professional work and her personal life too. The girl knows how to set her boundaries straight!! You should definitely check this book out!
