A long scraping sound dragged across the wood. Like claws. Everyone froze. Then came the voice. Soft. Cold. Dangerous. "You cannot stop it." Cookie growled. Louder than before. The tiny puppy stood directly in front of the door. Fur raised. Teeth exposed. Then all five puppies joined him. A tiny army. Against whatever waited outside. Then suddenly— the journal flipped pages again. Violently. The paper fluttered. The cover slammed open. Then stopped. Another message appeared. Fresh ink. New words.

I sigh when I hear it open all the way. I hear the sounds of puppies walking out of the box. I can't see them, but I can feel them licking my hand. It feels warm and comforting. Before anything else happens, I need to leave while the rain is still on my side. I grab my backpack and tell the puppies, "Get in my bag, we need to run or we'll get caught!" They jump on my backpack, which feels very heavy now. What kind of puppies is this heavy?

“Mommy please tell me a story before bed.” I have my best puppy dog eyes as I cling to my mother’s leg, begging for a story before bed. Mommy smiles at me and I know I’ve won. “Alright Haley, which one?” “The one about the Blood Red Wolf.” “That one again? Oh, alright.” Mommy tucks me under the covers and then cuddles up in bed with me as she begins to tell the story. I have heard this story several times but it’s one of my favorites.

Vicky had no idea about the commotion at home, and the puppies didn't care - they were too busy having the time of their lives with their new playmate. His affection for puppies only grew stronger with the passage of time, and their soft fur, gentle whines, and joyful yelps continued to enchant him.

I marvelled at these beautiful puppies, my heart beating fast with joy. I felt a connection as soon as I saw them. There were four little puppies, they must have been almost newborns, huddled together for protection from the cold. One of them was jet black, one was light brown and the other two were brownish red. They were beautiful, I held the black one in my arms and cradled him. He looked at me with bright eyes. “Where did these boys come from?” Seth asked, surveying the people outside.

"You are unbelievable." "But it worked," she said in an excited tone. "I found something." "What did you find?" Kincaid asked. "All their doubts are based on a children's bedtime story about a wolf that steals pups and kills them," Adrienne said. Kincaid groaned. "Not that..." He muttered. He knew the story. Almost every child in these parts knows the story. "It is ridiculous for them to believe that you are the bloody pup snatcher." "Are you not going to do anything about it?" She asked.

“Yeah… It’s me… There, there… Who do you think I was, hm? Are you alright? How’s the bird taming process going?” Darrion sniffled and wiped his runny nose, his cheeks full of tears. “I-I saw an explosion and I heard crackling thunder… Was that you? What happened?” Just then, another blip echoed nearby them and a dark puppy was seen lying on the ground. “Ah, it’s about that,” Jai pointed to the sleeping puppy. Darrion looked at it. “It’s a puppy?” Jai turned to him and smiled. “I have a great story to tell again this time. Do you want to hear it now or we can do it while we walk to the capital?”
