Put Respect On My Name Novels & Stories

“Sure. Take as much time as you need. But even if you want to change your last name, you'd keep Lucienne, right?” “Right,” I replied in a heartbeat then I was lost in thought before a thought popped up. “What if I use my middle name instead in real life but on paper, it's still my last name that would be there? Is that possible?” “Even if it isn't, for you, I'd make it possible,” “If it's too much stress…” “It isn't,” Killian cut me off. “We'd do it.” Almost immediately, Nicholas walked in and handed me the file back with an extra. Killian told me how to fill it and once we were done, my admiration for the man next to me doubled. He always found a way to get everything done.

Honour would know what to do. I pull back from our food and sit up. I lift our paw till our longest claw is the only one touching the dirt beneath me. I carefully start to write out my name. H-E-T-T-Y. I look up to complete and utter dumb-foundation. We sit in silence for a good while as they process a wolf writing its own name for them. Leo clears his throat. "Ok. Hetty it is." Jess just blinks as she stares at my name in the dirt floor.

He signaled me to come forward and I walked to the front. "Rest of you 10 rounds of the ground and after that go to the shooting range." All the females started to run on the track. "You.... Uh how should I address you? What is your name?" I stayed silent, staring at me. He sighed. He looks a little frustrated. "Look... We have to open a bank account in your name for you to receive your salary in that account every month. So...... Give me a name." I thought for some time. Should I tell him my name? But I don't want to. Maybe a fake name will do. But what name should I give?

He slid the paper closer to us and tapped on it making me look at it, “Why would you want to abandon the name that helped you survive?” !!! Goosebumps My eyes went a little wide and a shiver ran down my spine when I heard him say that. Honestly, I had never even thought about it. I doubt I would ever think about my name this way. But, now that he’s said it, it had left a pretty huge impact on me. “Hm,” I nodded feeling a little dazed. My name… Portia… It’s been with me from the start… “Write it down then,” He paused, “Unless you want to change it.” He spoke, “ It’s not like it’s on any other document so if you still don’t like your name, just put down the one you like-”

"Err... Grandpa, do you want me to use my original name given to me by my parents?" Grandpa Kent looked at me and smiled gently. "No, honey. You can use whatever name you like, even if now you want to change it again. Just be yourself and do whatever makes you comfortable." "Then, I will keep using my current name. Leora Evani," I said firmly. Grandpa Kent nodded. "Of course. But, I will add Jeremiah's name after that and Noah will take care of the legal administration as soon as possible." I thought it was a win win solution that was pleasant for both parties, so I reached out and shook my grandfather's hand while chuckling.

The bracelet’s heat had faded to a steady throb, but every time my mind touched the idea of my name on anything official, it pulsed. Rule One echoed in my head, but I twisted it, made it mine. *I will not be unclaimed again.* Not like before. Not in the shadows. Not as a footnote or a favor. “If we do this,” I said, “it has to look like I chose it. It's not like you decided again, and I smiled pretty for the cameras.”

My eyes directed to Liam who gave me a flirtatious wink I chose to ignore. I couldn’t have been more happy that everything had been resolved. ¶¶¶ “Change my name, why?” I asked Margaret. We were both in her office, taking note of my schedules. She had just gave a requirement which was so surprising. “As a celebrity, you'll be needing something more easier for people to recollect. A name with a sense of bad ass and style. Thus, we have to decide that.” She explained. I sat down stiffly in the chair. All my life, I had been trying to be a model. I wanted people to know me for my real name not something fake.

her voice was less offensive but her calling my name seemed excessive since I was the only other person in the damn room I got up and walked to the desk with a fake smile “Here” I put three fingers on the lip on the desk “Here ya go hunny your name change has been granted” “Just like that?” “Yup just like that, I’d normally say congratulations we don’t get a lot of Death name changes” her face despondent I looked over at Mr.Greek God and nodded to him as I turned to leave looking down at the paper that had an official stamp that granted me my maiden name back to me.

she tossed reluctantly, gazing at some documents she had brought. I clenched my teeth while forcing myself to smile. "I'd like to ask you to correct my name in your documentation since I have never used my father's last name in my whole life. I would like you to change it to Lilith Leber. It was the name that I used while being in school and studying," I explained as composedly as possible. "The name you used while studying? Does it mean you used other names as well?" She chuckled mockingly. Her way of looking down on me was seriously getting on my nerves. I took a deep breath.

If I did, my parents would disown me. Plus, my future husband–my stomach lurched again–would be here any minute, and I couldn't make a scene. I wiped a palm against my thigh. My head felt dizzy, but I clung to the mask I always wore at home. Cool. Calm. Respectable. "So." I swallowed my bile and forced a light tone. "Does Mr. Perfect have a name, or is he known only by his net worth?" I didn't remember everyone who'd been on Mode de Vie's list, but the people I did remember didn't inspire much confidence. If he–
