Just when I’d begun to doubt my life, I heard my name being called.
I shot to my feet, steeled myself and then walked elegantly into the office of my potential employer.
Oh, the office was grand, tastefully furnished.
I gently shut the door and made my way towards the desk.
The man was seated on a high-backed, luxurious chair. I couldn’t see his face because he had his back turned towards me.
“Good afternoon, sir. I’m Maya Rivers.”
“Good. Shut the door properly and bend over the armrest of that couch for me.”
