A blue flame erupted from the goblet. My palm burned again; I watched as a blue flame consumed the wolf, and then they both vanished from my skin. I looked up at her, slightly confused—a wide grin on her face.

The glow from the blade grew brighter and I could feel as it heated up. I clung to it as my own hand burnt. I knew I would burn like Brighid did. That would be how I took the tainted path to Hell.
