Queen's Code Audiobook Novels & Stories

“It was amazing, Oly. I mean, I’ve been dreaming about Quai for years. His eyes, his hair, his sweet voice and demeanor. I have spent years thinking I’d have to let that go, and should let that go. I couldn’t figure out why I was stuck on this boy I met when I was young that I could never possibly have. And then here he is. Calling me his mate, telling me I’m beautiful, looking at me like he’s waited a lifetime for me because he has. Everything that is to come, makes me tremble in fear, thats the truth. Being Queen was the one part about my fantasies with him that I didn’t want. But I would do anything, to be with Quai for the rest of my life. Even if that means having to accept that I have

I am utterly in awe of the beautiful creature in front of me. “Our mate.” Rohan mutters dreamily. “Our queen.” I agree.

And for her faith, she had been rewarded with this final, lonely descent. The last thing she saw was Scarlett’s silhouette against the moon, a victorious queen surveying her conquered territory. Checkmate. The impact was not pain. It was an obliteration. A cessation of being. A full stop at the end of a pathetic sentence. … Silence. No, not silence. A dull, rhythmic thumping. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. It was her own heartbeat. Ava’s eyes flew open.

How stupid can this servants be? Dev lowered her head, her body shaking with fright. She then cupped her trembling hands and blurted out the truth. “My Lord, The Queen only took a bite on the bun and suddenly collapsed. She…she would be better after a while…”She said in a shaky voice. The sweat poured out like a stream of fear, trickling down her cheeks as the throat suddenly became sparse. Dev gulped down, trying to pull herself back to her original composure. “What?!”

He remembered the little things I loved…the perfume I loved, the heels I’d stared at through shop windows like they were a dream I’d never reach. I lifted the bottle first, fingers trembling. The glass was cool against my palm. I spritzed once on my wrist, and the scent wrapped around me, It felt like a hug I hadn’t realized I needed. Then the heels. I slipped them on, and they fit perfectly, like they’d been waiting for me. The red soles flashed with every step, a quiet declaration of war. “You look like a queen,” she whispered. “Like you’re about to conquer the entire damn world.”

I am not sure how long it has been but I can hear beeping , a sound I have heard more than once . I can hear the mumbling of people talking , I try to open my eyes but a splitting sore pain shoots through my head . Sensing the spike in my heart rate I feel a hand on my cheek . “Hey , breathe it's ok you're safe” It's the Queen , Mama . I slowly open my eyes , trying to ignore the pain in my head . The green eyes of the Queen look down at me with sad eyes , why is she sad? I am alright . “Where is Kurat?” I ask as my dry throat rasps out the words .

“I found this hidden in the ruins of Elaina’s apartment, under the floorboard. It was protected with blood-magic.” Valen snatched it, unrolling the parchment as Lucien stepped beside him. All three men read the words scrawled in deep crimson ink: “One queen. Two kings. One will rise. One will fall. One will be forgotten.” The silence that followed was heavy. Lucien’s expression became unreadable. Valen’s jaw clenched. “Who wrote this?” Valen asked sharply. “It was sealed in a way only a Fire Queen could unbind,” Kade replied. “Which means—”

Their magic was unlike anything he had seen before. “Damn sons of bitches! Why don’t they all just fucking die? Fuck!” He roared, frustrated. Ezra approached him and said, “My king, I think it is time to move on to Plan B.” He sighed and said, “Give the order, Ezra. It’s time to get that whore out of the mansion and end this.” And waiting no longer, Ezra walked away from the battlefield. He sent a text message that said, “Extraction of the queen of hearts at 500 hours. Code: Romeo – Echo – Yankee – Hotel – Alfa – Romeo – Romeo – Yankee.”

She says with a small giggle. "You will stop second guessing your abilities to lead and you will rule right beside your mate. That is an order." She jokes with a hint of seriousness. I nod and smile up at her. She holds her hand out and a golden staff apears. I immediately bow down and she dubs me Queen of werewolves by tapping the staff on both of my shoulders. "I now dub thee Mackenzie Roseline Lathen as Queen of werewolves and Luna of the royal pack. Do you accept?" She asks and I look up at her.

Shut the door and climbed back into the passenger seat. “Let’s go.” He said, banging on the dash. THE END **Thank you for reading Rise of a Queen. I hope you enjoyed the adventure.
