“I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. I gave you a chance last night, and – well, you didn’t do anything bad. Actually, you tried to do something good.”
“What can I say,” I drawled. But I sobered quickly, and shot her a grateful smile. “Thank you, Rowan. I’ll tell you anything you want to know, okay?”
“Okay,” she grinned, her green eyes shining in the rear-view mirror. “But just so you know, I’m going to ask absolutely everything.” She paused, and then bounced in her seat. “Can you read minds?”
“No.”
“See the future?”
“Huh. So you’re not Alice, either.” She paused. “What about – um – running really fast?”
