I ate slowly, the taste feeling strange. Halfway through, the sound of the doorbell chime echoed. I looked up casually. And then my fork froze mid-air. Rachel walked in with that innocent smile in her face. My chest squeezed so hard I almost couldn’t breathe. She looked radiant. Beautiful. She was wearing a pink gown, the fabric hugging her curves, the hemline high above her knees. Her hair bounced softly as she walked, her lips shining faintly under the light. I almost stood up immediately, ready to confront her. To ask her why she left. To demand answers.

~&~ I laid on the bed and gave a sigh , I know I ran away for a stupid reason , but he never really liked me anyway , This was a better decision . I was cleaning the club in the morning when I saw Aaron and Ruth walk in and go straight to the cabin . I looked at the mail that was placed on the table and looked at the cracked open door . Grabbing the packed box and walked towards the office when I heard Ruth yell . " You don't play fair Aaron , She trusted you !" , I lean back to hear better. " I never asked her to trust me did I ? We have been waiting to get back at him for too long , this is the best chance " Aaron spoke . I could see him talking as Ruth paced back and forth .

You’re going to feel much better after a hot shower, I’m sure. ‘Okay,’ Grace murmured, allowing herself to be guided away from the glass wall of the tech lab and the unnerving stares that followed her. Several yards ahead in the curving hallway, a pair of elevator doors slid open. Three women walked out wearing snow-dusted winter parkas and wet boots. They were followed by a similarly bundled-up young girl who held a pair of dogs on leashes – a small, exuberant mutt terrier and Ella’s regal gray-and-white wolfdog, Lanny, which had apparently also made the recent move from Alaska to Russia.

Waking up to the smell of frying bacon and toast is something Rachel can never be used to, she turned in her bed while looking at the time figuring she probably slept through her alarm. She had been catching up on a series she had watched in her past life and slept late, you know, totally "normal" stuff. She went into the bathroom to wash up and wore some casual band tee and comfy sweatpants.

The scent of pine and damp earth mingled with the sweet smell of chocolate. Rachel beamed, her good cheer returning. “Awesome! Okay, dig in!” She handed me a cookie that was still slightly warm. “So,” she said, munching on her own, “aside from.... that” —she nodded towards the rabbit — “how’s the whole ‘becoming a super mysterious and dangerous woman of the world’ thing going? Are you, like, fluent in sarcasm yet? Mr Thorne seems to consider it an Olympic sport.” I actually almost smiled. “I’m working on it.”

**After 5 Months** ~Cassie’s POV~ I was 5 months pregnant and I was living with Suzie and Christopher and my eldest brother Gabriel and his wife Tatiana they got married a year ago. When Steve informed them about all that happened Gabriel and Chris were seethed with anger but I kept them calm. I don’t know about any whereabouts of Liam from the past 5 months. I tried so hard to forget him but I can’t. My siblings are taking good care of me and I am living with Suzie and Christopher.

I wasn't sure whose I wanted more. "Excellent choice. Those guys are legendary." She was trying to make small talk but talking wasn't my thing. Sorry. "Here, one of Walt's best art work." She handed me a book. "Song of myself." I read the title out loud while checking out the book. "Or do you prefer Leaves of grass? That one is quite nice but I prefer this one." She said. The lady was a strawberry blonde with brown eyes. She had a round baby like face and slim lips. She was pretty and looked within her early twenties.

I want to say "Why", but I don't want to risk sounding like a creep so I whatever her and go back to going through the rest of the shelf even though I'd done that a thousand times before. I drag my hands across the spines of the books; Kara Taylor's Prep School Confidential, Carol Wyer's The Secret Admirer, and Megan Goldin's The Night Swim. You would be subtle to call Rachel a crime-thriller addict - she's more of a crime freak. The Night Swim. There is a piece of paper sticking out of it. I pull it out of the book. Something is scribbled across it in Rachel's handwriting.

“Scream, Rowena. Go ahead.” Just when I opened my mouth to scream— “Wow… wow…” Rachel’s voice cut through the air, sharp and annoyed. She stood from the bench where she'd been sipping from a pack of red liquid—blood, probably. Her long nails clinked against the plastic as she dropped it into a tray. “What’s this mess?” she snapped. “Seriously? Love drama in the middle of lunch? You guys are so fucking exhausting.” Adrian let go of my hand right away, like her voice broke some trance.
