Rain had a hard time knocking on the door. Her hands were full of letters. She hugged the letters to her chest and knocked on the door with difficulty. "Master, good morning. I'm Rain! Let me in!" In his room, Jace was lying naked under the covers. Jace was very sleepy because he had to go around on patrol last night and came home almost dawn. "Sir?" Rain's voice seemed to be muffled from behind the door. "Erica, don't bother me!" shouted Jace in annoyance.

A shudder raced down my spine but I didn’t stop running. ‘BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!’ Shit! I hadn’t noticed that I had stepped out into oncoming traffic. My heart raced, the pain in my jaw forgotten in the moment of being almost hit by a car. ‘Why can’t I catch a break? All I want is for someone to love me for me and to protect me.
