Rex said, turning his gaze back to me. Rain’s hand gripped my waist, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. "She is." Our eyes locked. The air in the room suddenly went thick around us. Without another word, he leaned in. His lips touched mine, and he didn't pull away. It was a deep, lingering kiss that tasted like coffee and good promises. "What the fuck!" River shouted, dropping his fork. "Rex, do you see what I’m saying? Rain is...."
