I would have been more disappointed if you stayed a day longer in that cave,” she replied, without any remorse. I gazed at her deeply, she still remained unfazed. I later curved my lips slightly to reveal a smug from the corner of my lips. She also stylishly looked at me, and also had a cheeky smile as we trained in silence. “That’s the Raven I’ve to come to know.” I mumbled to myself. My wolf also huffed, feeling impressed I was getting more training.

As the next Luna, you have to have a good heart. Be kind. She's your sister. You have to understand. Once she's dead, I'll make you my Luna. Just give her this." Amira coughed softly. That one felt different. Softer. For a second, Raven almost believed she forgot they were pretending. Maybe her acting is just improving. That explanation feels safer. As the limousine nears the hospital, Raven adjusts his necktie and smooths the front of his jacket automatically. The polished version of him sliding back into place. “We’re almost there,” he says evenly.

I hated that my body reacted to him before my brain did but it did. I dragged my eyes to the guard standing near the bars. My voice came out stiff. “I withdraw the order. Let her out.” The guard nodded instantly and opened the cell. Raven stood slowly, brushing her palms against her thighs. She stepped out and lifted her chin when she saw Cole. And then she smiled. A full smile. At *him*. Wtf was that? My jaw tightened. My brows pulled down as my chest warmed with irritation so sharp it felt physical. She smiled as if she expected him to smile back as if she wanted me to see it.

“Murderer! Where’s my sister?!” A girl pushed through the crowd, her face streaked with tears and dust. She grabbed another stone, rage twisting her features. Before she could throw it, someone moved faster. A tall figure stepped between us, his arm coming up just in time to block the blow. The world seemed to still. I looked up, and there he was. Alaric. The Raven King himself. His eyes… deep, stormy gray, locked on mine. His jaw tightened as he turned to glare at the crowd, his presence alone enough to make grown men bow their heads.

Raven spat at me, smirking, "He doesn't actually like you." With those words, Raven set me over the edge. So with my balled up fists, I quickly pulled them out from one another, the tactic of keeping them folded clearly not working, and raised them menacingly slowly, mentally aiming straight at Raven's stupid cocky face. I knew what I was about to do would wipe his smug look clean off his face and replace it with something hopefully resembling pain.

I didn’t feel like I deserved anything, not this attention, not this celebration, not the warmth they kept trying to pour into me like it would fill the hollow places. Still… I smiled. Small. Forced. But a smile. The last note of their twisted duet broke off with a triumphant flourish from Mason, who bowed dramatically. Raven smacked his arm. The snow kept falling. I let out a soft laugh, rubbing warmth back into my fingers. “You two are ridiculous.” Raven looped her arm through mine. “Ridiculously amazing.” “Ridiculously tone-deaf,” I teased Mason. He gasped. “You wound me.”

Making me feel like i just asked the worst question. "Well", he said his voice going back to how it usually was, the voice that would make a stranger run for the hills. "Well I'm Bryan Raven, lived in New York most of my life till now. Cause my dad thinks I can jump off our apartment, so here I am being catered by you guys", he said finally with his face going plane. "Well trust me they're way more places to kill yourself here than in New York", i said matter factly trying to lighten his mood. "And you'll also have enough reasons not to, believe me", I said practically whispering it, hoping he heard me. I hope i never give up on him, he deserves so much, he deserves to br fought for.

Ravena was once again certain that she was about to be exposed as the woman drew in closer. Silva inhaled, her brown eyes growing droopy. Ravena prayed no one could smell that she was a lupus garou and not one of their own kind, despite the fact that she was wearing a ton of ostentatious human fragrances and, of course, the stench from the recent dye job—despite the fact that she had tried to mask that scent by washing her hair with strawberry shampoo. It appeared that it had failed.

I felt tears stinging my eyes as Raven lay motionless in my arms. She was breathing, but her heart was still racing. Her eyelids started to flutter, then she slowly opened her eyes. “Raven, I’m so, so sorry. Please forgive me. Do you need me to take you to the clinic?” Raven did not say anything. She just lay there staring at me. Which I think was even scarier than when her eyes had been closed. But as my gaze roamed over her face, her lips stretched into that beautiful smile that I love. “Will it always be like that?” She asked as she licked her lips.
