He turned back to face the others and resumed his conversation as if no one is eying them with shock and surprise. Irina is gritting her teeth. She couldn't maintain the fake smile that she never allowed to slip. In the twenty-seven years that she came to the Raven Palace, she only allowed everyone to see her smiling and kind face. Not the other side which would make everyone run the other way with fear.

But there was no smirk, no smile, no charm. "Hello, raven"

I slapped her back lightly, "Why are you so hell-bent on making my morning go wrong?" She wasn't listening again now. Her eyes were glued to the man she had been talking about. Even though he isn't as good-looking as Kyle, Barrin and Devon. He isn't bad either and definitely takes breaths away. Ignoring me, Raven raced towards him. At first, I was worried she would get tossed aside. Instead, he gave her one of the brightest smiles I have ever seen.

Osric answers while sitting on the edge of the lounge near Raven’s head making her smile. “How are you doing? It’s a big tattoo, you hurting yet?” I question, looking down at her hip to see the raven in red ink at the top of her hip taking up almost her entire thigh. The tattoo is very cool, the Raven is in a defensive attack position and made of knots like you would see in old Norse temples. “Enjoying talking to these guys, and getting to know Ares a bit better, it stings when it’s right over the bone but not bad,” Raven admits while looking down at the tattoo gun pressing against her skin, as Ares works on the dark red outline.

“The guy. At the club. The one you smiled at like he was yours.” Her stomach dropped. “I—I don’t know what you’re talking about. I wasn’t—” “Don’t play dumb with me, Raven.” His voice cracked, sharp and ugly. “You think I wouldn’t hear about it? That I wouldn’t know?” She tried to stand, but he shoved her back down. Her body hit the cushions with a soft thud. “I didn’t smile at anyone,” she whispered, eyes wide. “Bullsh*t.” His hand came down hard, striking her across the face. Then he grabbed her wrist. “You never look at them like that. Never smile like that. You were soft with him.”

“You did! Don’t tell me you have erased all my best moments we had.” I couldn’t help it as my lips twitched. “You are impossible.” “Ah, there it is,” he said, pointing at me. “That tiny smile. I knew it was hiding somewhere.” I rolled my eyes. “You’re annoying.” “I’ll take that as a compliment,” Raven said proudly. I fell silent for a moment, not knowing how to respond. The air felt thick. I could feel his eyes on me, studying me the way he always did, like he was searching for the girl he used to know.

Alex growls beside me. Raven's eyes gleam with malice as she tilts her head slightly, her lips curling into a slow, predatory smile. "Ah, Alpha-heir," she purrs, her voice dripping with sickly sweetness. "It sure is good to see you again. A shame my men couldn't bring you to me earlier. We would have had one hell of a time.” She tssks, her eyes moving over Alex's form as if appraising a prize, a sickening smile curving at her lips before meeting his gaze again.

Raven looked up at him, her frown completely vanishing as she smiled brightly at him too. Darian sat down on the edge of the sofa, running a hand gently through her tangled hair. "Good morning. How do you feel today?" "Great!" Raven said, her energy suddenly spiking as she sat up fast, pulling the blanket securely up to her chest. "It's my birthday! I have honestly never been more excited to celebrate a birthday in my entire life." I couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm, leaning over to kiss her bare shoulder. "Happy birthday, little mate."

Ave clenched her jaw and walked faster. Just when she thought she’d escape unnoticed— “Hey, Imani!” She turned. Raven stood with two of her friends near the lockers, holding up her phone. “You make cute drama bait,” Raven said sweetly. “Didn’t think the ice queen had a heart.” Ave kept her expression blank. “Jealous?” “Of what? Your pity project? I handed you that drone because I knew you’d choke on it.” “Sorry to disappoint.” “Oh, not disappointed. Entertained.” Raven flipped her hair. “Though if you want tips on how to flirt on camera, I do charge hourly.”

Draven’s POV “…I’m sorry, what the fuck did you just say?” I know I heard her wrong. I know I did. But there’s no way in hell she actually just said that shit. Raven smirks. Not nervous and there was no hesitation at all. A whole damn smug ass smirk. “You heard me,” she says smoothly. “I’m rejecting both of you.” My jaw tightens instantly. Both of us. Just like that. No fucking hesitation.
