Raven's voice shudders, she stares ahead while grabbing my hand and lacing her fingers with mine. "We will get through this together." Dad drapes his arm across both Raven and I before looking to Vaari, who nods. We stand together listening to Helena sing, Draig flies around above us in beautiful acrobatic movements that match her song. After a while Vaari and Dad move closer to the pyre as they speak, Raven moves to her mates and I stand staring at the fire, wishing she would come back.

“There were two women. One in white, one in blue. The woman in blue—she… she felt familiar, like I knew her even though I’d never seen her before. She called me by name and told me it wasn’t my time. That I had a destiny to fulfill.” Azraiel's throat tightened. “She called me Raven,” Charlotte whispered. “She said the flames are part of a prophecy... that I’m the one meant to bridge realms.” His heart thudded. “She told me I’d understand in time, and that the flames—what happened to me—were both a gift and a curse. That I would change the future of our kind.” Charlotte looked at him then. “I don’t know what that means, Azraiel. I don’t understand any of it.”

I demanded. Xander stepped close to me and looked into my eyes, his expression serious. "You know that the clinic burning down wasn't an isolated incident, just like this vampire's murder wasn't an isolated incident either. Before you go, we have to put a stop to whoever is hunting us, or else you will be hunted down and killed." He sighed. "If Raven said—" "How did you know her name?" I demanded, amazed that he had known exactly who I was talking about. He shrugged. "Raven is an extraordinary witch. If she says you have a wolf that's dormant, then you can take it to the bank."

The only thing running through my mind was her safety. Raven was one who needed no one because she could protect herself. For her to call me simply meant that things had gotten out of hand. Suddenly, a wave of flames burst out of him. “That's it, fireball. Let them all burn…” He chuckled. I didn't wait to find out what the psycho was on about and dashed off. If he wanted to get Raven, he would have to get to her first. Arriving at the gates of BloodFang, I killed everyone and anyone who tried to stop it.

He stands up from his desk to tell us to leave, but before he can say or do anything, Allistar brings up a good point. "Should we be concerned about Raven shifting tonight? She has been in 2 comas these last couple weaks and she recently took a serious blow to the head. The silver from the first attack is now just getting out of her system. Is she in danger by shifting with us tonight?" He sounds really concerned, but also hopeful that it'll all work out.

Jax rolled to his feet in one fluid motion, assault rifle trained on Venom's chest, his hazel eyes blazing with lethal fury. "Let her go," he said, his voice carrying the absolute authority of a man who had killed many times and would kill again without hesitation. "I don't think so," Venom replied, his grip on Raven tightening as he used her as a human shield. "It seems we have ourselves a standoff." The final confrontation had begun, and Raven found herself caught between the two most dangerous men she'd ever known, with nothing but her wits and the promise of Jax's love to keep her alive.

"Don't play dumb with me, Raven. I know you were at Damien's territory. I know you had a meeting with him. And now he's dead. I did send you to him, remember?” Raven looked up, her gaze matching mine. "I did not kill him, Alpha Fenrir. I swear it." I took a step closer, my voice dropping to a low menacing growl. "You expect me to believe that? You, were the last person to meet with him…and all of a sudden he is dead. Common Raven make this easy for the both of us.” Raven's face lost its color, but she stood her ground. "I didn't kill him, Alpha. I'm telling the truth. How can a weakling like me kill an alpha like Damien?”

It’s almost been 8 months since Raven came to me. My gift from the goddess. My everything. My love. She is the best warrior we have, I found out through her dreams/memories of her parents that she was a warriors daughter. It made sense with how strong and fast paced she was during training, it also explained how she was paired with an Alpha, she was beyond strong, in both body and mind.

My phone lights up with a message from Delilah: D: Can we talk ASAP? The situation with Liam… It’s complicated. I frown at the screen. Complicated? In what way? My thumb hovers over the keyboard before I quickly type back: Raven: Sure. Why don’t you come by my work tonight? I shake my head and turn my phone to the books again, trying to push the thought aside and return to my mission. Back to- “Trouble in paradise?” I nearly let out a scream.

“Half a minute?” “We’ll cover ya. Xylo, Kali… Let’s kill us some Peacekeepers.” Lucifer then sped off towards the incoming Peacekeepers, with Kali and Xylo right behind. The three of them split off slightly from each other, then wove left and right as they evaded incoming fire. Streams of bullets and rockets came flying in and hammered the area around the three Ravens. Many rounds bounced harmlessly while multiple rockets pounded into the destroyer's thick hide. The force of the blasts pushed the Ravens around a little, but they were hardly slowed.
