Alpha of the Ravenclaw Pack." My blood runs cold. Ravenclaw territory borders ours to the east, and the relationship between our packs has always been tense. What's an Alpha from a rival pack doing in Moonfang territory? He orders coffee, his voice a pleasant baritone as he chats with the barista. Her scent shifts subtly—the sweet note of attraction evident even from where I sit. I don't blame her; objectively speaking, he's gorgeous. Tall and muscular with defined cheekbones that could cut glass.

I shake my head at him, it’s dried on, why would he keep it? “I’m here.” Turning I look at Grayson as he and Ashton walk in, both looking at the box and clearly shocked. “I got a call from Jason, this was left at the gym.” I watch him place the envelope on the desk. “Do I even want to look?” That is going to be pictures or something like that. “It’s pictures of Raven and the guy she was dating before he died, then pictures of them locked in that abandoned building. Then there are pictures of Raven now, and some of her with us. Then, some of us alone.” So he knows, he clearly knows she is with us.

•• Seleste’s POV ••• The iron gates of the Alpha Academy, the famous Ravenwood Academy loomed ahead, towering over me like steel sentinels. Everyone around me looked at me. Everyone was curious about who I was, but they all knew that a new student would be enrolled here today. It seemed to me that they were already expecting me.

What kind of person was I to elicit such a reaction from her? “Arya, I fell some minutes ago and in the process had a slight concussion. I can't seem to remember any other thing apart from my name. Can you tell me where I am?” I asked. Her gaze immediately moved to my head before she met my eyes. “Sure thing my lady. You are in Ravenclaw Pack, the largest and strongest pack in all three regions under the leadership of Alpha Stephan.” I swallowed, my face turning pale at her words. Ravenclaw pack was the most elusive and dangerous pack in the kingdom.

I didn’t answer her and instead asked a question of my own. “Do you have a clear picture of the symbol?” Raven nodded and then handed me a piece of paper. A large image spanned across the paper, and I tilted my head as I examined it. Sure enough, it did seem like a symbol of one of the prestigious Houses in Anemond. I’d seen the symbol of Moses quite a few times when I’d conversed with Oliver, but this one didn’t seem as magnificent as theirs.

If she even was pretending anymore. “Please stand up. Pull the blanket back. If you could lend a hand, sir—Thank you.” Kade drew the shock blanket away from her chest and shoulders. There was another camera flash, then another and another, that left Raven’s vision burned with white spots. She could only imagine what she looked like in those photos: ghostly pale in the blare of the flash, with Burt’s blood splattered across the white skin of her chest and shoulders and neck. At least it wouldn’t show up against her red dress, she thought blandly. She prayed she would never have to see those pictures.

Then another. Raven didn’t speak. He didn’t offer her a drink, he just walked to the far end of the room and stopped in front of a tall cabinet with a locked drawer. She watched him pull out a key from his pocket. A click, the cabinewas unlocked and he pulled out a photo, carried it to her without ceremony and handed it over. It was of a young woman with blonde hair and fierce blue eyes, her face lit up woth a radiant smile. “She’s beautiful,” Raven said quietly.

“Enough!” Every eye turned to the high platform. The Elder’s gaze cut like steel. His voice thundered like a storm. “Clara—you’ve hidden long enough. But you cannot deceive me. Your blood is not Sinclair’s. You belong to Ravenclaw!”

The Ravens sat at a rather long and luxurious table. The table itself felt solid and powerful, and was made with a beautiful dark-stained wood. It wholly reminded Eva of those classic boardroom tables back from her old Earth. Which made sense, considering Eris was who she was. She imagined that the pirate queen had the table custom made, and probably cost hundreds of thousands to make. Across from the Ravens was Eris along with a few of her officers. Directly to her right was a holographic projection of someone who appeared to be some kind of official. He appeared to be watching the proceedings with a keen eye, but otherwise hardly made a sound.

He sounded worried and left. I looked around and saw that I was alone in the corridor. Only for the guards at the entrance which was a distance from where I was. It could be possible that these people might have already made it into Ravensclaw pack. I stared at the large crest, the one bearing the insignia of the back and stared. A raven and a wolf, at either side of the crest, displaying strength and intelligence. I feared this little time of peace we had would only last for that long.
