The air in the Lunar Combat Arena was thick with tension. I stood at the edge of the crowd, my fingers clutching the vial of wolfsbane hidden in my pocket. The scent of sweat and anticipation from the other students—alphas, all of them—pressed against me, a reminder of how out of place I was. Dominion Academy wasn’t built for someone like me. An omega. A liar. Yet here I was, disguised as Val Rhen, a supposed alpha heir of a nonexistent pack, surrounded by wolves who could tear me apart if they knew the truth.

NEXT MORNING Professor Justin is always lurking around the heroes in order to know their next step of action. The heroes are playing their games and it seems to be working on him. Professor Justin also has his own plans to unveil soon but had to play dumb with the heroes. School is getting fun daily for the heroes. They were happy because things seem a little better now unlike when they were in high school when Devoe will come to threaten them.

On top of the makeshift cake was a single, pink candle. One of the two students sitting by the table jumped up and held out a crimson balloon. “Happy belated birthday!” he exclaimed, his eyes on my mark. I ignored the idiot on my right, but when no one answered my previous question, I decided to try another vein. “So, can you tell me anything about what happens at the school?” I tried to shift the conversation to different waters. “Alpha Academy is guarded by high mage magic,” Honour said. “And that magic binds you so you can’t reveal what happens while you’re there,” Moral said, wagging his brows at me in the rearview mirror. “It’s very secretive.” “I knew about the binding.” Everyone did, but I was wishing maybe these dudes could give me a tiny breadcrumb. “If you knew, then why are you asking?” Kelly groaned from the front seat.

Professor Runn: Tapping my holo-display, I open the email Headmaster Noah sent, and a video starts playing. "Attention all professors," he starts. In the video, I notice the headmaster is armed with his axe, a sword, and a bow with arrows. "Something is wrong with the academy's shield. They're failing." I turn my head and look out my window. The headmaster is right. The academy's shield flickers on and off, sparking, fizzling, and smoking. A few minutes later, the shield turns off and the academy is exposed.
