His organs were unruptured. He had survived the anvil. Baraka rolled onto his back, staring up at the clear blue sky, a ragged, exhausted laugh escaping his lips. Back in the Deep Warren, the radio crackled to life. "Command, this is Zero," Baraka’s voice came through, weary but triumphant. "The artillery is functional. Tell Malik to bring his iron. I’ll break it." The Free North had its weapon. Patient Zero had leveled up.

He drew the briefcase on the floor up to the bar and slid it across to me. I caught it and looked at him. "What's this?" "Open it and see." Without taking my eyes off him, I opened the briefcase slightly. It was stacked with neat-looking one hundred dollar bills. I brought out one and sniffed it before putting it back. I looked up to see the man watching me closely. "Hi, my name is Zero, glad to make your acquaintance." I lifted a hand towards him in a hand shake and watched in rising amusement, the flow of emotions on his face. I knew he debated on whether to shake me or not. Coming to a conclusion, he brought out his hand and clasped mine in a firm shake.

What is he?” Adrian closed his eyes briefly, exhaling a long, ragged breath, looking like a man who was simply tired of running, tired of hiding beneath the earth, and utterly spent from keeping secrets. He opened his eyes, locking his gaze directly onto Ava, and delivered the one truth nobody in the storm was prepared to hear. “I helped create Subject Zero.” An absolute, suffocating silence fell over the forest, heavy enough to drown out the crack of thunder rolling overhead. Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. Ava felt her stomach drop into a bottomless void.

He held his shaft and darted the tip of it into her core. She groaned and tried to slide down to pierce her core fully into his but Zero pulled his shaft. She opened her eyes, forehead knitted. “What’s wrong? I want you—” Zero shook his head. “I am the master of the game,” he said, authoritatively. “Z-Zero…” “That’s it. Beg,” he whispered and hold his shaft again, darting only the tip into her wetness. Pushing the tip in and out, tickling and teasing her which makes her protest silently.

As I approached, the sounds of laughter and camaraderie reached my ears, a symphony of hope and resilience. Zero's figure came into view, his demeanor a testament to the transformation he had undergone. The feral edge that had once marked his presence had been replaced by a sense of purpose and camaraderie. His eyes met mine, a fleeting expression of gratitude passing between us – a recognition of the role we had played in each other's journeys. His dark eyes bore towards me, “Hi there, miss. My name is Zero. May I know yours?” He extended his hand, and now I just noticed that he had tattoos on his fingers up to his arms. The man knows he’s sexy, and that’s dangerous.

She simply looked at Elizabeth with pleading eyes. Unable to refuse that expression, Elizabeth finally offered her shoulder. "Not for long. The professor will be here in ten minutes." Ayleen beamed. "Ten minutes is enough. I have to give my presentation afterward, so just let me close my eyes for a bit and recharge."
