IRENE: Daughter of the Moon
She glanced at the gold dusts on Irene’s desk and sat gracefully across her.
“Tell me, who snuffed out our little sun’s warmth?”
Irene’s eye began to water again and she blew her nose on a tissue. Alodia cringed.
“I found my mate,” she muttered.
“But he has someone else,” Irene added.
“Am I really Selene’s daughter, Aunt Lo?” she stared at Alodia.
“Oh, love,” Alodia went to her niece and hugged her.
“Of course, you are the moon’s daughter, child. How else will you explain these gifts you have? And the moon shines brighter each year on your birthday. You even have her hair,” Alodia stared at her.
