He barely had time to react before another shockwave detonated outward. Blue fire erupted from his palms, roaring to life as he forced it into a barrier around the room. The wards shrieked, ancient magic screaming in protest. Beams creaked and buckled. The cabin shuddered as though it might tear itself apart at the seams.
