Dominic clutched me tightly as we were pulled into another void. This time, we landed in a dimly lit chamber. At its center stood a large, ornate mirror, its surface rippling like water. The silver-eyed man stood before it, his expression unreadable. “This,” he said, gesturing to the mirror, “is your true test.” “What do you want from me?” I demanded, my voice shaking but defiant. He smiled, a cold and dangerous smile. “Step through the mirror, Elise. Face what lies on the other side, and you’ll understand everything.”

The emperor spoke up, "Give me a moment, Basalt's Collins. Once I deal with this matter, I'll give you a proper welcome." Seeing no reaction from Chase, Hamish prepared for the worst. He unleashed his full might as a stage-nine martial lord, and his true energy coursed through his body in a desperate attempt to fight. It was a piece of cake to get to her room and wait for her. In no time, she arrived in her room looking tired and worn out. She was about to change into her nightwear when she noticed me in the mirror. She gasped, "Mira, how did you get in here?" My teeth chattered in rage as I glared at her.

Surprisingly, I knew what the mirror was even without anyone telling me what it was. "Come, Lorraine, see for yourself," she shifted her stance so I can have to see what was in the mirror. I moved two steps closer. The feeling was strange. I suddenly felt the urge to save James. Inside the mirror was Ava's colleague who was on duty and a man muttering inaudible statements. They were in James's room. A wicked smile crept out of the man's face as he began to move slowly towards the power outlet to which James's life support was connected.

Focused on the book, Gemma jumped when she heard a man’s voice say, “Hello gorgeous. That’s moon ink. Hold the pages up to the moonlight.” She let out a startled cry and looked over the book while holding it to her chest protectively. Her eyes widened when she realized there was the image of a half-naked man in the mirror. She was speechless, with her mouth hanging open. He stood inside the mirror, chuckling in a self-satisfied way. He plastered a sexy smirk across his face as he crossed his arms and stared her directly in the eyes. “Who are you, my beauty, hmm? Are you my next charge as the guardian?”

"But your mother was. And your father. And Lucien's father. And everyone else who ever crossed me." "Not anymore." "We'll see." The line went dead. I ran to the window.
