I threw myself back in the teal armchair, annoyed that I didn't discover anything. Then I see it. An old copy of Pride and Prejudice. But what strikes me is that this is not the only copy of this book I've spotted on her shelves. In the 11th grade, we were assigned the book for our English literature class. While I love to read, I do not like being told what I should or shouldn't read. I complained to my mother that there was no sense in reading 18th-century chick lit that has no place in today's world. My mother laughed at that and told me that it was one of her favorite books. She said it was the ultimate love story where both characters are forced to face their flaws and grow as people, t

I ask not knowing what they expect to do while Matteo's tutor is here. "Oh, whatever you like, sweetie; Matteo will only be gone a few hours." She stated this before hastily retreating around the corner, Matteo's little hand waving farewell to me. Well ok then... **** I'm currently sitting down in the sitting room reading one of my favourite books Pride and prejudice. I mean it's so beautifully written. A blanket was draped over my lap, and the fire in front of me kept me warm and comfortable as I read. The scent of burning wood from the fireplace soothed me into the leather chair. I smile when I read my favorite quote from the book. "You have bewitched me body and soul. And I -"

"It is better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love, for your pride." At the word love, my world stopped and through the buzzing in my ears, I heard another student say, a little louder this time, "Pride and Prejudice." I looked around the room and saw we had my student's undivided attention. There were smiles and faces resting on palms, one kid wa even taking notes. If someone pulled out a bowl of popcorn, I wouldn't have been surprised.

Two minutes later he entered to the library looking everywhere, when he spotted her he came closer. "Hey. " He said moving a chair backwards and sitting down while placing his backpack on the desk. "Hi. " "I hope you don't mind but i got ahead in the assignment. " He said placing a copy of the book "Pride And Prejudice" by Jane Austen on the desk. Its cover had a girl with brown short curly hair and wearing a pink long dress that resembled a night gown, and a bonnet in her head seated on a chair looking somewhere else. She was resting her chin on her left index finger while on her right hand she was holding what it seemed a piece of paper. The cover was attractive to Amy, who always wanted t

She always looks so forlorn even when she has a smile on her face and for a beautiful woman like herself - happiness is all she needs to feel. "Aren't you busy or something? I shouldn't bother you." She says. "I called you so you're not bothering me." I lean back in my chair. "What are you doing right now?" "Reading." She replies. "Want me to tell you the title?" "Yes." "Pride and Prejudice." "What's it about?" I ask. "I've watched the movie but somehow, I think they left out a lot of details." I listen to her as she explains what the book is all about and I close my eyes just listening to her voice which calms me. The turmoil roiling inside of me disappears and the headache I was beginning

Ruby sighed to keep her laughter at bay. Pride and Prejudice is certainly a good book. Ruby also enjoyed it, but it’s a romance novel. This was the first time Ruby had met a man—especially one like Ed—who willingly admitted to liking that book. “Precisely because it’s so different. I enjoy it. It’s simple. There is no need to burden my mind. Light and warm. It reminds me that sometimes people only need simple things to be happy. It's akin to a fragment of a captivating vision that you can perpetually cherish.

Katrina asked, holding her spoon a little above ge head. "I wanted to say that too, it hasn't been up to three hours you all came back home and someone already rushed to to hold a conference" Emily shakes her head in dismay. "Hmm, that how popular I am" she said with obvious smugness. Katie rolled her eyes, as she dropped her spoon instantly.. "Oh my gosh, shit, so dirty...." Vida shakes her head."hmm" she sighed The other is prideful, while the other has a princess syndrome....

Again. Okay, I walked right into this one. But I couldn't begin to care as I slid my hands to his neck and buried my fingers deep into his soft strands. I couldn't even think about his damned hair product this time. Goodbye, Christian Grey. My days of worshipping you are over. I just found a much better version of you. "Thank heavens I've got a smudge-proof lipstick," was the first thing I spoke as I eyed his lips void of any traces of lipstick in relief. His lips did look a little red and swollen but at least my lipstick didn't have to sacrifice itself for my newfound hobby.

“I brought you something.” Her face lights up. “You did?” I smile and pass her the little brown paper bag. Her eyes lift to meet mine. “What is it, dear?’ “Open it.” She smiles as her little frail hands struggle to open up the tape and I stand patiently, I wonder how long it has been since she had a present. She finally gets it open and pulls it out of the bag. Her face drops and she gasps. “Oh…” She puts her little hand over her mouth. “You remembered?” She opens the hard cover edition of Pride and Prejudice that I have just bought her.
