Reading Books Electronically Novels & Stories

Luxiana Sommeris Work had been exhausting, but I felt a quiet satisfaction at the end of the day. A steady stream of students and middle-aged readers had come to the library, eagerly searching for books to immerse themselves in. I’d always assumed that technology would take over even the simple joy of reading. With ebooks and online platforms offering instant access to stories—often for just a handful of coins—it seemed inevitable. Yet, seeing people choose the weight of a book in their hands, cherishing the earthy smell of its pages, and savoring the anticipation of flipping to the next chapter made me undeniably happy.

I correct, smirking. She doesn’t miss a beat. “Left to wander corners and stare at walls. I read a book today. Do you know when was the last time I read a physical book? I didn’t go anywhere without my laptop or my phone. I wanted to shoot my boss in the head while still begging for a promotion. I’m almost forgetting what an email looks like.” I chuckle, shaking my head. “All that’s trivial now. You’re above it all.” She groans, raising a brow. “Technically, I’m beneath it. Underworld and all.”

He was not even a fan of books so she wondered why he was suddenly interested in reading in. She did not mind his suggestion as she wanted to soak in the beauty and smell of the place for as long as possible. She was going to read in anyway. "We have a variety of books that you can choose from. From comic books to X-rated books. " the girl said pointing in the direction of the books. "We also provide a self care service where you can order any kind of meal and have it delivered on the condition that it is only eaten within the compartment provided for you" the girl explained.

"Do you guys use a streaming service?" "No, Mom and I live in the cable-connected stone age." "Those kinds of things are expensive, Kate." She frowned at me again and I ignored her. "You should get a tablet, Aunt Lisa. The book reader alone is worth it. I've got close to a thousand books on it now and can even read at night without bothering Mike." Mom's eyes widened. "How could you afford a thousand books?" John and I glanced at each other, and then he closed one eye and spoke with a pirate's accent. "I plead the fifth, Matey."

But in books I get the best parts of them without having to live with drug overdoses and the cheating. I pop open my e-reader and lean back, adjusting my shoulders against the pillow. There's nothing like getting to spend a Sunday on the couch reading. Hudson crinkles the wrapper of his burrito and tosses it in the bag next to mine. The noise causes my eyes to peek up and inspect him. I had a hunch this was too good to be true. "What?" he asks. My eyes narrow judging his response to my coming question. "Are you going to be quiet and let me read?"

"I don't know about that, but it sure felt good to win." She'd let him have this. "So, since we're ignoring the 'dumpster fire', Valerie's words, not mine, that happened last night. What do you do to destress then?" "Read, now, don't give me crap for this but–" "Oh my god, I can't believe you do that," gasped Jamie. "I haven't even said anything!" laughed Logan, shoving her lightly. "I read like, e-books and stuff since I have access to the computer. Cheating, I know, but hey, faster than waiting for us to buy the paperbacks or fight for the copy."

With not having a man in my life I have had a lot of spare time. I work in a local nursing home as an aide during the night. I make sure the residents are happy feed and healthy. Since I work nights and they sleep for the most part I have free time. I read or listen to books. A lot. And I have a specific taste in the choice of novels I enjoy, Romance and the dirtier and more fantasy they are the better. I may have spent over four hundred dollars on a pay for reading app within the last six months and in the last year listened to 98 Audible books totaling over 34,697 minutes of romance, 14,151 minutes of fantasy and sci-fi and 9,336 minutes of fictions. he couldn’t help but add, “I don’t want to discourage her from reading in general.” Mrs. Gentry scribbled a note on the paper in front of her. “Certainly not. I know how much of a struggle it can be to get kids to read these days, especially with phones and the Internet and TV distracting them. Books are boring, they tell me. It’s a pleasure to see Emma remaining interested in reading.”

So find an adult that you trust -- a parent, a grandparentor teacher, a coach or a counselor -- and ask them to help you stay on track tomeet your goals. Many people read on digital devices like cell phones and e-books. The fast pace of life leaves many people no time to sit and read a whole book, so making use of fragmented time to read is sure tobe a trend. Fragmented reading has its advantages. “I really hadn’t thought about it yet. Usually Sundays are a double shift in the diner. Ummm, I don’t know. Library maybe?” “Melinda and I went yesterday, Mama. Oh, she got you this,” Maddie runs into the living room and picks up a small black device. It’s about 3x the size of a phone and Maddie runs back over to me. “It’s a kindle. She said you have an unlimited account now so you can read whatever you want to. And it’s already connected to the library, so you don’t have to go there to check out digital books. Just pick one and it’ll d******d. Although it does still have a limit on how many books you can have ‘checked out’ at one time. I’ve got one too, but I wanted to have a few actual boo
