Reading The Classics Novels & Stories

If he can see every move I make, how will I ever make a move against him? During my rampage of a small bookshelf on the wall next to the bed, I find classic books such as, The Catcher in the Rye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and so on. Spotting amongst the classics a leather bound book with no title or author. I slowly open it and inside handwritten pages are revealed. May 12th 1998

I didn't like to think of people being mean to Ivy. Most of the photos she was reading in them so I looked at the names of the books that she was reading. It seemed that she liked the classics. I wonder which ones she doesn't have. That was my mission. To find out which books she doesn't have and to see where I can get them from if they are hard to find. I knew that I could find them. And I would. I would do anything for Ivy.

Emma said, walking deep into the living room. "Thanks." She walked to a set of shelves on the far side of the room, running her fingers over the spines of his books. A lot of them were classics, novels by Dickens, Voltaire, Dumas, Melville, and Hemingway. She smiled when her fingers ran over the spine of not one, but three copies of Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. There were modern novels, too, including Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon, but they didn't look as well read as some of the others.

Leo had said. Damon remembered Serena being greatly astonished. She had exerted considerable self-control not to overreact in front of Leo. "Even if he's just parroting Celeste, memorizing something like that is impressive,” Serena had later told Damon. Leo, being able to recite the Modern Wisdom Dictionary and the Ashford Dictionary, found reading the Four Great Classical Novels unsurprising. Damon knew his statements were genuine and not Celeste's. Since Leo didn't like 'The Dream of the Red Chamber', he must have another purpose for being here.

My mother was obsessed with making me ‘well-read.’” He made air quotes. “Said a man who could understand words could understand people.”

“I know what you mean. I had one too—it was a family outing for us, going to the library. My mom insisted my brother and I read books if we wanted to play video games. I was that nerdy kid who actually preferred reading to gaming. I guess it carried over into adulthood.” Fiona’s gaze focused on his face, and one side of her mouth smirked. “Nothing wrong with that.” Handing the book back to him, she continued to investigate the books lining the shelves. “Do you have a favorite in here or in one of the boxes?” Chris chuckled. “Well, having a degree in English Literature, you’d think so. But I love so many of them. I’m partial to the classics—Keats and Shelley, Lord Byron, Shakespeare…”

Lucas explained and I turned to him. “I’m really sorry about your mum,” I said sincerely. “What was her favorite thing to read?” Lucas turned to me with a small smile on her face “It was anything between children fiction- she loved the classics, everything written by Charles dickens- that was all she loved and she had an entire section dedicated to it. It’s phenom-“ “Someone is here.” Malcolm said hurridely as he interrupted us, his eyes were hard and focused on Lucas who looked equally as confused.

"W-What kind of books?" "What kind I like to read?", he asked with an amused tone, trying his hardest not to laugh. "I'm a classics kinda guy. I'm surrounded by so much technology I need a break and avoid futuristic books. My favourites are the Trial by Franz Kafka, 1984 by George Orwell, Don Quijote by Miguel de Cervantes. I should stop here or else I'll talk day and night about my favourite titles. I love any classical literature I pick up." Michael leaned forward. "Weren't it to the high expectations my parents left behind, I would have studied literature."

I'm really sorry that the first chapter is so short and has so many parts but from the second chapter onwards the length increases and the chapters flow steadily so please keep reading.
