I often wondered how my father was able to tame Knight. He said it took years of practice, but my wolf is more stubborn than his. I see Alex more like Kaira, my mother's wolf. She is impulsive to date, no matter how my mother tries to mask it. Kaira is the most impatient wolf I have ever met, followed by Aurora, Aunty Amelia's wolf. I wondered if Onyx was like that, too. Most of the wolves I know aren't tamed; they have just been through so much that they have had to grow up.

Suddenly, footsteps approached, and she swiftly rushed back to the bed, hiding the phone beneath the pillow. The Boss entered the room without knocking, standing silently at the entrance, locking eyes with Elena. "Puppy," he coldly smirked, advancing further. His eyes were on her, adorning her beauty. He moved directly towards Elena, who sat on the bed, her heart pounding so fiercely it felt like her ribs might crack. She clenched her legs together, praying fervently for the police to arrive soon.

“Police are investigating another suspected animal attack after the body of twenty-three year old Chrissy Leyland was found by a dog walker just three hours after she was reported missing. Police are asking the public to be vigilant...” Johnny groaned and jabbed at the TV remote with his thumb to try and find something to watch that was better than the news. He’d been in the states for a few months but didn’t enjoy the TV much. Then again, he was usually too busy to watch TV but being bed-ridden had left him with a lot of time on his hands and no way of filling it. My head was down, but I could see him charging toward the guys dressed in black, standing at the top of the stairs while continuously pulling the trigger with their large guns aimed in our direction. I watched as Jonathan morphed into a large, brown wolf and took out the first man within his reach. His claws dug so deep into his neck that it was impossible at this point for that person to get back up on his feet.

It was the beginning of everything. After I’d completed my official patrol of the perimeter, which included barking at two suspicious leaves, marking three separate trees, and breaking up a shady-looking pigeon gathering, I permitted myself to play. There were other dogs in the park. I knew them. Well, most of them. Milo, the golden retriever, has no impulse control. Olive, the rescue mutt, always brought a squeaky toy and never shared it with anyone. And a rotating pack of doodle variations who never stopped moving and probably ran an underground treat exchange.

I pretended to have just regained consciousness as I said with a pained expression, "Owen, what happened just now? My stomach really hurts!" Owen patted my back gently, showing a tenderness I had never seen before. His voice sounded choked as he said, "The witch examined you just now. Our pup is gone." I pinched myself and forced out a few tears. Upon seeing this, Owen cupped my face and kissed the tracks of my tears. "Ivy, we'll have another pup. I'll stay by your side until you fully recover." At that moment, a phone rang, again and again.

HERO POV A wolf with black fur cautiously approached me, padding softly and circling my legs. Her eyes, full of curiosity, studied me intently. I held back my power, allowing her to explore. Paxton growled, interrupting the moment. “Can you please stop that, Morgan? The positioned station given to you should be your top priority right now.” She slowly walked away with a sound like a wolf's laugh, and I couldn't help but smirk. “It seemed like she enjoys taking risks. What a wild one.”

Kavi's POV *16 years later* I fell down on the grassy land and let out a fake gasp clutching my leg, looking at the small greyish black furry pup who was panting excitedly and howling his victory of defeating his mother with head bumping my leg. A medium-sized midnight black wolf appeared before my vision and rolled her eyes laying next to me placing her head over my lap. Spending time with my children is always the BEST thing in this universe. 'Mom, you should be careful at this time. Dad will scold you if he sees you carelessly falling like this.'

Mason spots the patrol first. ‘Alpha, there, near that fallen log! The patrol!’ ‘Stop yelling! We can hear you! Idiot.’ Chastises Jason. He and Mason are litter mates, both with brown fur with white patches on their heads and paws. Mason also has a white patch on his tail. It’s the only difference between them. As we get closer to the patrol, I notice their agitation and it’s unnerving. What is it about this human? ‘Alpha.’ Greets one of the guards with a bow. I turn to him.
