--- Rage followed Rex on his first patrol into the North. The grey wolf was too old to run much anymore. But its grandson, the small grey wolf Sylvan had brought back from the forest, was already grown. Rage had named him Firepaw—for the patch of dark red fur on his right front paw. He walked behind Rex with Firepaw at his side, across the ice plains for a whole day. When he returned, his boots were covered in frozen soil and ice chips. He ran to Luna and held up the small handful of thistle root tendrils clutched in his fist for her to see.

I was about to be mauled to death. "It's okay..." I say tensely. My body trembling with fright. "Here, you can have him back. You see I was protecting him. There was an eagle and it was going to get him but he's okay. See, you're welcome..." Slowly but surely I put Poppy back onto the floor and it padded towards his mother. Yet, the mother still growled. I backed up... "Where is Paw Patrol when you need em'." The dog barked, hard and loud, and I didn't grasp the level of stupid I am until that very moment when I pointed at the dog and yelled, "Bad dog!"

So, believe it or not, I actually enjoy patrols. Training, no. Patrols, yes. Training means working on strengths and skills I don’t really have; I’d even go as far as calling myself a pacifist. I just don’t like violence and prefer to avoid it at all costs, even if it’s to defend myself. Defending Jennifer on the other hand is a different matter, and now that she’s carrying our pup, I do want to be able to protect them from anything. Patrols are different though. Everyone eighteen and over is required to do patrol shifts. This is so everyone contributes to protecting the pack. It’s not a hard job. You just spend a few hours in a designated section of the pack border trotting up and down in w

Elle said and Kyle came out of the kitchen and walked towards Elle. "What's the problem?" He asked "She has a nose bleed" Elle said "My Pet?" Kyle said as he turned to Eva and Elle nodded "I'm not your pet Kyle" Eva said and Kyle smiled "Okk..Since you are not my pet, stop your nose bleed yourself" He said about to walk back to the kitchen when Eva said "Fine, fine, fine. I'm your Pet" Kyle had a small smile on his face when he heard her and said "Not convincing enough". Eva sighed and said in a playful voice "I'm your Pet. Your one and only Pet". Kyle smirked and walked towards her and held her hand as he went to where he kept the first aid.

Rex growled. "Wow! You DO have teeth!" his wolf laughed. "You are an Alpha, that's for sure. Still, is your bravado false, or true?" his wolf asked. "Try me." Rex, crouched. He's fought many wolves while in his human form. "You're a brave one aren't you? Alright, let's see who breaks first, me or your bones!" his wolf charged at Rex. Diving out of the way, his wolf skid right past Rex, who turned and kicked the back of the wolf in the head, sending him flying further into the darkness.

Ethan The forest welcomes me, a familiar embrace of pine and earth as my paws dig into the soft ground. Around me, five of my strongest pack members run in formation—their silver and dark-furred bodies weaving between trees with practiced ease. I lead them on the border patrol, my senses heightened in this form, alert to any sign of intrusion into our territory. My wolf revels in the simple joy of the run, the temporary freedom from human worries.

Mom pulled my hand tight and kept shaking her head so that I would not approach the living room in the slightest. With a sore heart, I flashed like a real vampire that morning with Mom, splitting the road as fast as the vampires could. “Stormy fits her perfectly. You’ve got an eye for it, River.” The kids continued to interact with the puppies, their laughter and chatter filling the room. Talon and Jake eventually joined in, crouching down to get their hands on the fluffy bundles. Jake picked up a white puppy with a black patch over its eye, holding it up for Trina to see. “This one’s got a pirate vibe. What do you think, Patch?” Trina laughed, taking the puppy from him. “Patch is a good name. Fits his little rebel spirit.”
