Rebecca sits with one leg crossed over the other, completely composed while Malachi watches her like he’s trying to decide whether trusting her is stupidity or survival. “She won’t listen to me,” I say quietly. “No shit,” he mutters. Rebecca ignores him smoothly. “She’ll listen eventually.” “No,” Malachi replies immediately. “She won’t. Not after this.” Something flashes across Rebecca’s face at that. Guilt maybe. Good. “You think I don’t know that?” she asks quietly. The room stills slightly because that’s the first real crack she’s shown all night. Rebecca leans back slowly, her fingers resting against the table.

She picked up the last book which was actually a journal and tucked in its side were plack pencils with bookish scribbles on them.

The book was about humans and the mermaid, a fictional book and hence, this might be the reason why Rebecca knew of her. She must to be that famous for her to publish all the series in a year, I love seeing ladies achieve their dreams really. It always makes me happy. I lost count of the time, totally engrossed in reading until I heard the key jingling and the door was opened. Another maid entered, with a tray and a water jug in her left hand.

I ask, my hands over my mouth as I try to hide my squeak. "Just one person," Nikki said and I scoff. "No way! That was four dresses and 10,000 grande each!" I cover my mouth. "oh my gosh, I'm so happy" I squeak, my hands going round Reid as I jump all over him. "Guess you're going home with a fat cheque today" Nikki rasp before walking to the door. "Good work Rebecca" she added and I catch a smile on her lips before she exited the room. It only made my grin wider.

Rebecca's POV I went home happy. I can't help myself smiling a lot because of what happened today. Also, I noticed that there was no stalker following me ever since I went with miss AC. “You heard me, you’re not deaf.” She said while grinning. Rebecca couldn’t help but swallow. What is the meaning of this? Her heart started to race very fast. Did Sheira see that kissing scene that they shared a while ago?

Amira replied. “Oh yes we did,” Rebecca replied. “You went out with Richard, didn’t you?” Amira asked. “How did you know?” Rebecca asked. “I saw you guys when you were returning,” Amira replied. “We went to the market and even proceeded to visit Alice,” Rebecca announced. “Oh really? Did she give you my book?” Amira asked. “No she didn’t, we didn’t even talk about it,” Rebecca replied. “I never give her my things again. I gave it to her almost three months ago and each day we meet at school, she will tell me that she has forgotten it at home,” Amira complained.

There where now books with titles such as The Witch Within You, Herbs and Pentagrams, Spells and the Sabbaths, True Magic in the World. Maddie had never noticed that there were so many books on that subject. She was shocked when Omem suddenly stood in front of her. ‘Are you coming, child? Lunch is ready.’ Maddie nodded and left the library.
