The Gamma's Shattered Soul

"You're terrified," he said quietly. Not an accusation. Just an observation.
"Completely," I admitted. "But I'm going anyway." His arms wrapped around me fully, his chin resting against my temple. Outside the window, I could hear the distant sounds of the pack beginning to stir, the ordinary sounds of a community that had no idea what was happening in their Alpha's office, what was being planned in the hours before they gathered to welcome a new life into their midst. I thought about Marcus in the cells below, whatever was left of him snarling at walls he probably couldn't even properly see anymore. I thought about Brianna's vo
