When Rosalie arrived at Rebecca's place, it was around ten o'clock. Rebecca was lying in bed, wearing her reading glasses and engrossed in a book. Spotting Rosalie, she quickly put down her book and smiled warmly. "Rose, you're here." "Grandma." Rosalie smiled back, sitting beside Rebecca's bed. "What are you reading?" "It's a romance novel," Rebecca replied. Rosalie peeked at the cover out of curiosity. Indeed, it was one of those girly romance novels.

***Rebecca*** "Look, I understand your concerns. Trust me I have more than you can carry, but this is what we agreed on, all of us and we have to make it work. Those people were neglected, tortured and hurt for far too long. They need a place where they could feel safe and wanted. A place where their children would be protected and able to grow up without fear. And this pack is that place. I never wanted this responsibility on my shoulders, but it landed and I couldn't brush them aside, not after what I've witnessed back there. So I really need all of you on my side to make this happen."

Rebecca said to me. I gave her a grateful smile. She wrapped her arms around mine and rested her head on my shoulder. I was truly grateful to her. If it wasn't for her, I would have fallen for Miss Kardashian and her ferocious ways again. The moment when she instructed me to clean the pantry, the dread I faced in her hands in the past came crashing on me, and fear began to radiate in me. To avoid getting into trouble with her, I had wanted to do just as she instructed. It was Rebecca who had stopped me and even whispered to me that I was no longer a slave but a leader of people now. She encouraged me to be brave, and that had given me the courage to do what I should do.

Taking Grandpa’s warning seriously, I went to the library to take books to complete my notes. As I enter, I notice Rebecca Sinclair holding a pile of book in her hands, with a smugly smile on her face when her gaze falls on me. What is her problem? Every chic in this school wants to be with me but her, she is a pain in ass, just like her grades. She tops in academics’ every year and she knows that she is winning this already! “hey! Ashford! What’s up?” Oliver, my best friend taps on my shoulder, “she is not your type, dude!” she points when he notices I was glaring at Rebecca.
