This is a wedding, not a war zone.” I raised an eyebrow at her reflection. “There have been red weddings in the past.” Ava’s face darkened as I pressed on. “Some brides didn’t survive the night with their gowns still pristine.” From the bed, Rosy trembled, her voice a mere whisper. “That won’t happen today, right?”
