I took a sip of my drink and turned my head slightly in his direction, finally making eye contact. He seemed encouraged by my eye contact. “You know,” he said with a sly grin, leaning in slightly, “there’s something about redheads. Always been my type.” I had to laugh at that, not because it was funny, but because it was so painfully obvious what he was doing. I set my glass down and turned to face him fully, locking eyes with him. “If you’re trying to flirt, you’re doing a terrible job.”
