"That's good. It's not easy raising a pup alone. I always thought you were a single mother." I smiled faintly. I wasn't before, but soon I would be one. "Megan Cross, you're the most skilled healer we have. Without you, the common folk won't have anyone to treat them. They can't afford the fees of the nobles' healers." Emily glanced at the patients lying nearby and sighed. I gave a helpless smile and turned to leave the healer's tent—only to run straight into Alpha King Jason Boone of the Northern Realm and Princess Bailey Shaw of the Silvermoon Pack. They were both visiting injured warriors.

It was…being held. Contained. Like something inside me had taken over the process and decided how far it would go. The same presence from before. Still there. Still quiet. But no longer distant. “Can you fix it?” Kael asked. The healer hesitated, just for a second. “I can clean it and make sure there’s no remaining toxin, but whatever stopped it from spreading…that wasn’t me.” His jaw tightened. “Do what you can.”

“Her heartrate is steadying.” I barely heard Nox’s voice, or the pop as Reese appeared in the dorm. Spots danced in my vision, but I was able to see the herd of healers he’d brought with him, along with Hakeem. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I registered Nox barking orders, warning the others not to touch me or move Natasha from my grasp. The healers set to work, placing hands along her body in a group attempt to knit together the fatal wounds Slade had caused. Minutes passed and my vision darkened, the colors and sounds melting into a tangled mess I couldn’t begin to sort through.

I wanted to scream at them to stop looking at me like I was broken, but I didn’t have the strength. Minutes turned into hours for me as I sat there alone with nothing to occupy my thoughts. Finally, the door opened again and Alaric returned with the head healer. Their expressions were serious, but there was a glimmer of determination in Alaric's eyes. The healer clasped my hands in hers as soon as she got to me. “Karla,” she said softly, “your body has been through so much. It’s like it’s turned off parts of itself, but we can turn them back on again.”

I told him as I shut the door and locked it with the state of the art technology that had been developed to keep vampires out of any home. “Is Neema asleep?” he asked as he took a seat on the living room couch. Being turned at a later age, his face wasn’t as flawless as that of most vampires who had been turned earlier in life, when they were at the prime of their youth. But it was a face that held kindness and authority. Jonathan Redfern was a Healer, a Vampire’s version of a Doctor and he was quite famous among other species too since he could heal most of them. However, he wasn’t just any healer; he was the Royal Healer, working for Damien. It gave him a position similar to, if not higher

Darien discards his popsicle which has leaked all over his fingers, he has a look of disgust, which is totally unrelated to the events around us. “About the rogues? How should I know?” “No, about the popsicle. That was my favorite flavor.” “Are you mad? Look around you!” I yell at him. He just pouts then looks away from me. ‘Eldora, this is a good opportunity.’ ‘For what?’ ‘Use area High Heal to revert the effects of the pill.’ ‘Is that possible?’ ‘Yes, you and your wolf are almost one so it should be.’ ‘Will their senses come back to them?’

Lycan King, “Serenity Redwolf?” The pack’s healer, Healer Ashford, didn’t need a moment to recognize her as soon as he walked into the emergency room. “You know her?” I asked, my voice sharp. The pack healer nodded quietly. “She is one of my rarest cases, with no cure.” My eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?” The healer didn’t say anything. He just shook his head, as though the truth was something heavy sitting behind his teeth, something he had learned not to release no matter who stood in front of him.

I close my eyes, focusing the ancient power in my veins into stitching flesh and bone. The surrounding noises fade as I delve deeper, sensing the torn veins and organs beneath my palms. Mending them proves slow, agonizing work but at last, the tide of hot blood slows, then stops. Gradually other sounds intrude - anxious whines and whimpers from the watching pack, Adam's voice raised and arms wrapped around me as he urges me to stop before the effort kills me. I ignore them all, pouring everything I have left into healing this wound, saving this life - the one thing I can do to make right the losses we suffered this night.

teasing her. “ no ” she answered and I smiled. “ very well, carry on with the execution ” the blade was drawn and she was made to kneel , I would cut off the hands that touched her later ,for now I wanted to take note of her reactions. “ we pray the goddess thy soul to keep ” the Pack chanted , like we do others that has died by the blade . her mind seemed to come to a conclusion. “ wait ! I knew exactly what was beneath those trousers, exactly what my hand was dangerously close to touching. My cheeks burned. Of all the places for the pain to appear. I kept my palm firmly against his lower stomach and forced myself to concentrate on what I was supposed to be doing. His muscles tightened beneath my hand as my gift flowed into him.
