Reflection In A Golden Eye Novels & Stories

I dried my hands on a paper towel and caught my reflection in the mirror above the sink. I looked different. My skin was flushed. My hair was messy. There was a smudge of blood on my cheek. But my eyes. My eyes looked brighter. More alive. And then I saw it. A flash of gold in my irises. Just for a second. Like a spark of lightning. I gasped and leaned closer to the mirror. "Anna?" Ryker asked. "What's wrong?" "My eyes," I whispered. "They just... they glowed." Both Twins moved closer. They were looking at my reflection too.

I look at my reflection on the mirror, now that my black contact lens is removed, my golden eyes feels relaxed. Yes, that is also my secret. Even George didn't know it. I already mentioned my burning eyes during the asteroid incident. This is the result of that burning. My hazel brown eyes turned into golden yellow. Which glows every time I use my power. Honestly, I have no idea if there's some powers inside me that I still not figured out.

I reached my room and slammed the door shut. Inside, I leaned against the wall, breathing hard. My heart raced. My skin was cold. My eyes itched. Too many voices. Too much noise. I stumbled toward the mirror. And I froze. At first glance, my reflection looked the same messy hair, pale cheeks, wide eyes, but then the edges shimmered. For a heartbeat, I saw it. The flicker. Not me. Not fully. My eyes shifted. Once, then again. The brown dissolved into a molten gold, not fully glowing, but lit like something inside me was burning through. For a moment, they turned completely yellow, rimmed in silver. Then they faded.

She could still hear her heart hammering in her ears. "F-Fuck, why am I getting so intimidated by her? How dare that bitch insult me-" she continued cursing her when those golden eyes flashed in her mind. "I am sure her eyes changed color" Saying that she quickly turned around and started scanning the room. "Was that lens or a reflection? But they changed to golden. I saw that." The golden streaks she saw in her blue orbs started haunting her. She couldn't pinpoint it as it disappeared in a blink of an eye.

And suddenly, the air between us was too tight and too heavy. I blinked and looked away, turning to face the mirror. The glint of glass pulled me in. The mirror was massive, floor-to-ceiling, framed in brushed gold, it stood like a gate to another lifetime. My reflection stared back: older, harder, but still carrying the same eyes that had once glowed when he touched me.

I wiped my hands on a clean part of my dress and reached up, trying to steady my hands. I carefully, slowly, peeled a lens from Arte's eye. Under it was a lighter blue shade. It felt calming. She stared at me, like she was gauging my reaction. My hands, a little steadier, peeled the second lens away, revealing a swirling golden coloured eye. It was like someone had melted only the best quality gold and used it to colour Arte's eye.

Legion. "It's memory." I blinked. The static cleared. I saw my reflection in his golden eyes. My eyes weren't violet anymore. They were a blinding, solid silver. "And I know how to fix it."

“The gold is spreading through your hair and even to your eyes.” I turn to look at myself in the mirror, catching a glimpse of my reflection, and I see what she sees too; she’s right. Golden strands are overpowering my hair, and it’s shining brighter against the dark strands. And my eyes... my eyes have changed too and flecked with a golden hue.

I squeezed them shut, but that only worsened the pain. When I finally forced them open, everything changed. The vision became sharper and clearer. I could see details I had never noticed before, including every crack in the wall, and every grain of dust in the air. The ice-covered stone gleamed like glass, and in it I saw my reflection. My breath hitched. My eyes were no longer their usual gray. They were gold. Omega gold, but not ordinary. They were brighter, and deeper. A molten shade of dark gold with a striking yellow hue swirling within.

It always brought me a sense of calmness and peace. I leaned forward and scooped the river’s water into my palms, drinking greedily. Then, I looked at my reflection. What stared back at me wasn’t the omega they tried to break. It wasn't the disgraced omega they had branded cursed and tried to silence. My hair was wild, tangled with soot and sweat, but my eyes....my eyes glowed faintly with firelight. A molten gold hue swirled within them. There was something ancient in my gaze now. In the way it changed from brown to sharp gold resembling embers.
