a sharp, brittle laugh escaped her lips as she looked back on it.
It was amusing how the King was the one who was considered who holds the most power in this country but was the most weakest when it really matters. Like in the game of chess, the King was the lifeline (when it is gone, it was already considered a loss but here), here, the King truly wasn’t the one to hold real power, wasn’t the one to pull the strings. It was the Queen. It was always, always that damned Queen Ysabel.
