"But... you don’t have a wolf, do you?" Third-person's POV In his home office, Nathan and Sabrina went over his campaign plans yet again. At the time, throwing himself into work felt right. Now, feeling exhausted, Nathan had a sudden feeling of guilt. Claire was fine, but part of him still wished he was there with her instead of here. When he said "I reject you", he regretted the words as soon as they were out of his mouth. Even if the rejection didn’t hold, it still felt wrong to throw something so awful at his mate.

My chest tightened. That voice again. So convincing. So real. “I came here for you,” he continued. “Because I made a mistake.” My breath caught. A mistake…? “I shouldn’t have rejected you,” he said. My heart skipped. The words I never thought I would hear. The words I had wanted. Begged for. Cried for. But now… Now they felt wrong. Like they came too late. Or worse— From the wrong person. “I regret it,” he continued softly.

"Is there something on my face?" He said. "No." "Then why are you looking at my face as if there is something?" He smiles. "it's just that you look more beautiful than the last time I saw you. You look more confident. And it just makes me regret rejecting you over your sister." My smile faded when I remembered the day he rejected me. "It really hurts a lot but I learn many things from there. Which is to show no weakness and no regret no matter what the outcome is. Because I do not want to think about what might happen as it doesn't change anything or make a decision."

"You were the only one who saw something in me. Who pushed me to be better." Seth's jaw clenched, but he remained silent. "You didn't just give me a job," Paige continued, tears falling freely now. "You gave me confidence. Purpose. Made me believe I could actually make something of myself. And I threw all of that away because I was too weak and scared to stand up to him." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I don't expect forgiveness. I just... I needed you to know that failing you is my biggest regret. Not because of the job or the company, but because you're one of the few people in this world I truly respect."

Not being able to get his way made him shake. Still, he remained calm. Tried harder not to lose his control on himself. No matter what, he was wrong and he hurt his Dove. He needed to tread carefully. "Claire, please, hit me if you want but don't walk away. I don't want us to regret anything." He rasped. "Regret? You think I'll regret letting you go? Haha, you're pretty full of yourself! But you know what, the only thing I regret is falling in love with you."

Then I got up to congratulate them because, regardless of the fact that I had gone to hell with my mate, they looked like they were going to be very happy. "Congratulations!" I said with a sincere smile. "I hope you find everything you need in each other." "Thank you, and I hope you, very soon, find that specia; someone too," Bella said with tears about to spill from her eyes, which I denied. "I guess at that point there is no redemption lap for me; my mate rejected me," I admitted painfully. "I know that kind of happiness has passed for me, and it's just a matter of making peace with that."

Two weeks passed like a blur, anxiety crippled Pamala. There were no other letters or threat. Whoever it was must have been bluffing, it was a silly trick. She didn't dwell too much on it. She was anxious about stepping outside, now the news of her Rejection had spread like wildfire she didn't want to people people throwing her looks of mockery or pity anywhere she went to, so she didn't go out at all. But it would be good to find a job and support her parents now that her hope for a mate was crushed. It was hard living, she felt like a shell. It hadn't gotten better but she was learning to cope with the pain.

“I once told a very ridiculous lie that I liked men.” Everyone was speechless. “But I regret it now, and I want to apologize to the person who got hurt.” After saying that, quite sure that no one had ever done such a boring thing, he picked up his wine glass and prepared to punish himself... My voice came out breathless and desperate. "Because you're drunk and you're hurt. Because your brother would kill me and because you deserve someone who can give you more than I can." "What if I don't care about any of that?" I whispered. He closed his eyes like he was in pain. "You will. Tomorrow when you're sober you'll regret this and I can't be the guy you regret." The rejection stung worse than Tyler's betrayal. Tears welled up again but this time they were different. These were tears of frustration and longing and the cruel realization that maybe I had been in love with the wrong man all along.
