He’s got several sizable branches he makes a rack out of, then lays the meat across it.
“Can’t say I have but not everyone has been friendly enough for a chat,” I say, eager to get some food.
He works like he does this sort of thing all the time. I have to admit, cooked meat, not raw, sounds amazing. When the scent tingles my nose, I nearly moan.
“It’s gotta be rough out here on your own, I’m not sure if that is good or bad,” I say.
He shrugs and comes to sit on the other end of the log. It’s quiet for a long minute, and he rises to turn the meat.
