“Damon, we’ve been together every single day these past years, haven’t we? Haven’t we been happy? Please, make me your mate, and I’ll be an outstanding Luna.” Infuriated, I shoved Abby away. “I’ve warned you before—you’re just my Beta! I’ve never considered making you my mate! I remember clearly telling you to fulfill your duties and not harbor any delusions!” Steady in her high heels, Abby stumbled and fell to the ground. Many of the guests witnessed the scene and began to gather, whispering among themselves. “Isn’t she supposed to be Alpha Damon’s fiancée? It doesn’t look like he likes her at all.”

“But I have never seen a Luna treated like that by her own husband.” “Yes, I saw it myself,” an older Luna interjected coldly. “The way Darius spoke harshly to her. The way he let her be humiliated in public. I actually felt sorry for her.” “If that’s the case,” another murmured, “then who is truly disgracing the Blackthorn clan tonight?” The whispers grew hotter. Yes, the Alphas and Lunas were now openly discussing Reagan and Darius—both members of the Blackthorn clan. “But why would Alpha Valerius carry a Luna whom her own husband doesn’t even acknowledge?”

I said, shaking my head. “From today, I, Alpha North, declare Elena Black, daughter of Gabe Black, as a slave to my mate and Luna, Leila.” he announced.

Bianca’s cousin, Tyler’s Beta, stood with his head bowed before me, and I suddenly thought how funny fate could be. I turned back to Tyler. “What was the reason you went to such lengths to get an audience with my mate?” I asked, aware that he had been hoping to see Regan. “I wished to confirm a rumor I had heard”, he said reluctantly. “And what rumor would that be?” I asked. “That his mate was a descendant of the Royal Bloodline”, he said, pushing the words out through clenched teeth. A slow smile split my lips. “The rumor is true”, I said to him, all but beaming at the look on his face. “And I am that mate”.

There was even blood at the corner of his mouth, yet his eyes burned with fervent hope. He pushed open Leah's gate, no longer commanding but humbler than he'd ever been. "Leah." His voice was hoarse, weak from his injuries, and filled with barely suppressed pleading. Leah turned and looked at him in this state, her face still showing no ripple of emotion. "I severed the bond with Alice." Regulus walked closer step by step, and with each step, his gaze grew more ardent. "Come back with me. I'll give you everything. The entire pack, or the highest position.

"They'll keep him, I guess. He's the future Alpha after all. He'll play a role in all of this. But why are we discussing them! Let's talk about a holiday. Do you like cruises?" "Yes." I forced a smile as my mind still lingered on Fred and his coming doom. I want to pity him, but he's going to reap what he sowed. *** By midnight, Fenriz and I were in bed upstairs in his room. I was once again in his arms, and an ipad was in Fenriz's hand. We were watching a movie. Fifty Shades of Gray. My wolf was going ballistic. Because we had wanted to do this with our second chance mate. But we were doing it here in the arms of a pérvërt.

Because equality wasn’t something I had ever been offered. Only taken. Or denied. And now… Here it was, standing in front of me. Wearing confidence like armor. I studied him carefully. Every movement, every breath, every detail, trying to find the flaw. But all I found… was control Far away… An Alpha was searching for the woman he lost. Regret was beginning to settle into bones that once carried only pride. But here? In the quiet aftermath of blood and victory… In the rising shadow of something new, a different kind of king had already found her.

My breath hitched against my will. Nathan’s eyes were no longer the familiar colour I remembered. They were darker, unnaturally so…like bottomless black pits swallowing all light. Ink seemed to bleed into the whites, which were streaked red, feral and unhinged. This wasn’t just a man standing in front of me. This was an alpha on the brink. My wolf pressed hard against my ribs, uneasy, torn between submission and defiance. Danger, she whispered. His lips curved into a cold, humorless smirk. “Aria,” he said slowly, his voice low and edged with something wild, “I’m not dead yet.”
