Roge said as the spear shattered in his hand. “You sent in a kelpie to save you?” Shamous said. “How ironic?” “Hey Nest, can you handle that thing while we take care of Shamous?” Olivia asked. “Did you not pay attention to my badass entrance, Roge said. “Yes or no,” “Leave it to me,” Roge turned toward the giant monster as he flexed his arms. “FYI, Cult. Your welcome,” The monster released more spears at the aquatic agent. But Roge conjured a rising tower of water to shatter the spears before they could reach him.

The creature's back broke the surface, a good nine meters across, its skin half-clear on top, dark gray underneath. They could even make out its last meal through its belly: Giant squids, deep-sea worms—all formidable beings from the Abyss, reduced to prey. Among them, semi-transparent shapes—clearly the notorious Ocean Eater Eels. "Remember, Ocean Eater Eels grow by devouring each other," the informant hastily reminded them. It seemed impossible for it to have grown so large in mere hours. Alexander, fueled by rage, did not give a damn. He was already speeding toward the Ocean Eater Eel on his boat.

It moved with an eerie fluidity that defied its massive size. Then, the sonar began to scream. "Multiple signatures approaching from the depths!" Tommy shouted. "They’re massive, Avery. It looks like... a pod of Sperm Whales? No, they’re too big. And they’re glowing." Through the porthole, Avery watched as the shadows of the deep began to move. These weren't whales; they were the "Deep Guardians"—giant squids and leviathans that had already integrated with the Sombra spores leaking from the cable over the last six months. Their skin was patterned with the Fibonacci spiral, and their eyes glowed with the same silver-violet light as the "Midnight" survivors.

They walked through the deep-sea zone, which was filled with huge tanks containing bizarre-looking deep-sea creatures. Some glowed, while others looked so terrifying it was hard to believe they were real. The faint sound of flowing water came from all directions, like a mysterious whisper.

Its living body would have been even larger. A two-hundred-meter monster? Ray sucked in a sharp breath. Had this thing originally been some kind of marine creature? Otherwise, how could a land animal possibly have reached twenty meters in height before mutating? Venus had mentioned the fifty-meter gorilla-like monster that previously appeared at the Aegis Military Base. With that image already planted in his mind, Ray found the remains in the photo vaguely ape-like as well. Holy hell. So the previous one had only been… a baby? They killed the child, and now the mother came seeking revenge?
