Rivers of molten fire flowed in intricate patterns across the floor, forming sigils that glowed brighter with every passing second.
And in the center of it all, bound by chains made of black stone, lay a creature unlike anything I had ever seen.
It was enormous—its body half buried beneath the molten surface. Scales the color of obsidian shimmered in the firelight, and from its back, enormous wings lay folded, each larger than a mountain. Its face was both human and something far older, its eyes closed but burning faintly beneath the lids.
Seraphine’s voice trembled. “The Primordial Flame.”
