His grip was tight and his eyes burned as he looked at Darius. “She is not available.” The words came out hard and I blinked. Not available? Darius’ eyes darkened and he looked at Kael’s hand on my arm and then he looked at Kael. “You rejected her.” His voice held power, everyone knew the law, once a mate was rejected, the bond broke and the rejected wolf became free, free to find another mate, free to leave and free to start again. That was the rule of our kind, my heart rang. Yes.

I say and shake my head. Nikolai rejected her in the worst possible way and called out her flaws. she shook her head and sighed. Erica asked, "Reject? Can you do that?" In the middle of all this mess and chaos, she has forgotten to know more about the world. Lana wiped her tears, "Ah, yes. When one mate is not happy to meet their other had or has already chosen someone else, they can reject their true mate. It is extremely painful for the one who gets rejected and the one who rejects also bears the brunt, but as time passes by we learn to move on".

He smirked jacking his hands off my grip “…you are nothing but a whore Chris needed for a few minutes, what made you think you’d ever have a chance with Chris ever again and also, I would have Selena, I don’t need your fucking help to do that- “Are you sure? You seem to be having a little difficulty though, you couldn’t even stop them from marking each other, what made you think you can make them reject each other on your own” I know pushing his buttons isn’t something I should be doing right now, but I’ll take my chances. “Once they mate, rejecting each other becomes almost impossible, and if they eventually do, it’ll damage both of them, can you stand it…having either of them broken, you’

he exclaims “I don’t have to be your mate I can still Reject you as my mate” I reply with a attitude “You’d do that” he asks “Yes I would not only do I hate you your also dating my best friend and we have not mated nor marked each other so I simply could reject you” I growl “We’ll there’s on flaw to that we both have to reject each other in order for the rejection to work” he says smiling. “Not necessarily, fair maiden. If the rejected one wants to make it official, they need to come to an agreement that they want to be with someone else. Or maybe they don’t have a solid reason to do it. “There are a couple of reasons for a mate to reject their destined one. Maybe because of their personalities, their abusive pasts, and trauma… anything could trigger their complicated emotions to surface. It would take time, effort, and patience to be by your mate’s side and get through the mating bond together,” Damien said honestly as the woman nodded. Zack stayed still, listening attentively to Damien.

“So what do we do about it?” “I’d say we have to reject each other, but that’s not an option. I don’t know what to do. I already have a mate--” he must see the confusion on my face because he quickly goes on to explain --“I had a fated mate before…she rejected me.” He shakes his head, takes a sip of wine. “I needed a mate, a queen for our kingdom, it’s expected, so I just picked a suitable she-wolf to be my mate. We call them chosen mates, there’s no bond, but they get the job done just as well as a fated mate, without the added disadvantage of all those…irrational emotions.” He runs out of breath, and empties his glass.

“Every time my life seems to be making a change for the better, something goes wrong. Maybe both men should reject me, let me die, because at this point I don’t want to know what’s going to happen next.” I picked her hand up and squeezed it gently. "Over my dead body. He only said that because rejection is pretty harmful to a wolf, and if you get sick from just the mate bond being discovered," I made a face, "we think you might die from rejection.
