On the day that I was kidnapped, so was Rick. The human traffickers took us to countless places to hide. Rick would always cry for a long time. I didn't want him to be beaten up all the time, so I would secretly comfort him. The lucky thing was that we were rescued before we were sold. When we parted ways, he only knew that the short-haired girl who smiled a lot was Mindy. "Don't forget me, Mindy," he said. To Rick, Mindy was his childhood sweetheart who kept him company during the toughest times.

This renegade emanated strength beyond anything he had ever experienced, and he was already hurt. Aria gripped his arm and said, "Darius." "There is a problem. He is...different. The sound of the rogue's laughter was unsettling. "Aren't you perceptive? I am different from the rest. And you—" he said, pointing at Aria with a clawed finger, "—are accompanying me." Darius's anger clouded his eyes. "Over my corpse." The renegade grinned more broadly. "If you insist."

Hot breath sprayed the main artery in my neck. I knew the enemy's fangs were dangerously close to my most vulnerable spot. The third Renegade stepped forward and grabbed my legs, pulling hard. I was stretched out on the ground, my legs spread wide by them. They had lustful smiles on their faces. I struggled desperately, but I was weak, and with each attempt to break free, the Renegade's nails stuck on my wrist deeper.

As I hesitated, I realized I was forgetting something important. Every Renegade member lived by a code of honor. The biggest thing the leader of the Renegades has stressed since going public with the Renegades was their motto: Leave no man behind. As I let that realization settle over me, I felt my wolf also resign himself to helping save the two men.

Every other Alpha had been left with no choice but to torture me in order to obtain the information they wanted, but that usually took them at least a month to get anything from me which they could actually use. I had a pretty high pain threshold and could easily go for weeks before anything actually effected my body. "If the Goddess won't help me, I'll find power even she will tremble before."

Maddox said anxiously. I raised an eyebrow. "Don't be swayed by the mate bond, Maddox. Renegades are often cunning, and some like to disguise themselves as fragile and innocent. Don't judge a renegade by its appearance; they're called renegades for a reason, and those reasons aren't always good." I reminded him, but his mind seemed clouded by his sudden love for his mate. He was convinced his mate was good, incapable of the evil of other savage renegades.
