I finally heard Tyler start snoring and I pushed his arm off of me and I got up out of bed. I opened the door and I walked down the hallway to the living room. I opened the cabinet in the living room for some reason. I felt like I was just going through the motions. I didn’t really know what I was doing. But I opened the door to the dungeon and I walked down the stairs and through the dungeon until I got to Leon’s cell. He was sitting on the cot with his head in his hands. He stood up when he saw me there and he started trying to say something to me.

He arranged his desk, picked up his car keys, and walked out of the study. About forty-five minutes later… Leon pulled his car into a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the old neighborhood. Most of the houses had weathered the passage of time, their faded walls and aging fences telling stories of decades gone by. As he switched off the engine, he immediately spotted Daniel waiting beneath the shade of a large neem tree at the corner of the street. The moment Daniel noticed Leon's car, he straightened and walked over. "Good morning, Mr. Viremont."

The driver pulled up to the curb outside a glass building that looked like it had never known dust. Giant block letters read MIDDAY LIVE WITH CHLOE KENT — bold, polished, merciless. I wiped my palms against the soft linen of my cream skirt. “You okay?” Leon asked, voice low and smooth beside me. He looked unfairly calm in that navy suit — the kind of man who could walk into a room and have it kneel. I gave him a thin smile. “Define okay.”

She said. She picks her phone and dialled Kelvin's number again but it wasn’t connecting. "Fuck Kelvin, where are you!" she cursed. "Leon where are we?" I asked as our car drove into a very big and beautiful estate. "Our new home," he said. "There are rumours that Mavis Leonel lives in one of the most expensive estates in the country and he owns it. Don’t tell me….this….this is…." "Yes….. Mrs Leonel…." He said and entangled my hands in his. My little hand fit perfectly.

“Miss Bailey is going to live here now?” Angela reached out and patted Sunny’s head, her voice unconsciously turning gentle. “That’s right. I’m in Building 3.” “What a coincidence! I live on the top floor of Building 3. Miss Bailey, which floor are you on?” Angela blinked in surprise. “I’m… right below it.” Leon’s place was directly upstairs? How was that even possible? Angela looked at Leon again. Leon remained calm. “I’m renting too. And your place was found by the agent, not by me. I only suggested the neighborhood.”

“Are you blind? I just brought home a wolf cub.” “A wolf cub? You mean a dog? But Monk is male—he can’t give birth.” I shot Leon a colder look. Why was he so insensitive? Why was he talking about Monk, my dog? I was talking about Nick. “Who else is the new resident in this house besides Nick?” Leon looked slightly startled. “Boss, isn’t it excessive to call him a wolf cub? He’s a human child. And you’ve never even hired a designer for your own clothes. Why go through the trouble for Nick? You’re spoiling him.”

“It’s in my blood.” Something about the way he said it made my chest tighten. His blood. His world. And for a flickering moment, I wondered if I truly knew everything about the man I was so hopelessly tangled with. Meanwhile, behind us, Brea huffed. “If Leon thinks I’m spending my free time near him, he’s insane.” She walked into her cabin with dramatic flair. “I’m staying here. Period.” Not two minutes later, Leon appeared with his luggage slung over his shoulder. “Well, isn’t this cozy?” His grin widened when Brea groaned. “Guess we’re neighbors.”

That’s my bedroom. But Maria stops at the first door past it and opens it. We walk in. Wow. Asher really outdid himself. Leon’s room is incredible, huge, bright, and filled with his favourite toys. The bed is shaped like a car, colourful and oversized, with shelves built into the walls and little details everywhere that scream him. Leon squeals. He runs inside, jumping on the bed, touching everything, laughing, spinning in circles like the world has just handed him magic. His joy fills the room, loud and pure and unfiltered.
