“Boss, I just checked the weather. There’s a blizzard warning tonight. It’s not safe to fly.” I slammed my hand down on the desk. “Are you stupid? I don’t care about the weather! I want Reina and Abby in Brazil before tomorrow morning!” He didn’t flinch this time. “Boss… there’s another option.” I narrowed my eyes. “What option?” “That house Reina’s uncle got for her,” Leon said. “It’s in one of the most secure estates in the country. Top tech…thermal gates, ID-locked entry, laser sensors, everything. No one gets in unless they’re residents or personally invited. It’s safer than flying through a storm.”

The yard looked messy, like there had been moving activity days before. Leon got out, his heart pounding hard. “Something’s wrong.” He knocked on the door several times. No answer. He knocked harder. Still silent. Joe tried from another side. “Sir, there’s a light still on inside.” Leon grew even more uneasy. “Then call the residential guard.” Joe nodded and jogged toward the security post. Within three minutes, the security guard came rushing over. “Sorry, is there a problem?” Leon asked straightaway, “Where are the residents of this house? Where are Doctor Giselle and her daughter?”

When she abruptly ended the call in his ear, Leon threw his phone in the middle console between him and the passenger's seat, glaring ahead at the road with a seething fury. The night sky was dark as Leon pulled up to the mansion, his car tires screeching against the gravel driveway when he parked his expensive silver Mercedes Benz. As soon as his car stopped, Leon got out, slamming the door shut behind him as he stalked to the front door. Stepping inside, he slammed the door shut before walking into the foyer and removing his jacket, tossing it in the direction of the closet in disgust. Leon chuckled softly before following beside me anyway. “I moved back permanently,” he replied casually. “So unfortunately for you, cousin, I’m here to stay.” I ignored him completely while pressing the elevator button repeatedly like it would somehow arrive faster and save me from him. Unfortunately, Leon stepped inside with me too. “You wouldn’t believe who I saw today,” he said casually. “I genuinely do not care,” I replied immediately. Leon only laughed under his breath. “Trust me,” he continued while leaning lazily against the elevator wall, “if I told you, you’d definitely care.”

"You’re not safe here either. Leon knows where you live, and he’s vindictive. He’ll come back to harass you just to get to Sabrina."

He stopped in front of a closed door at the end of the passageway. “What’s in there?” I asked. “Open it.” I pushed the door inward. The room was mostly empty, except for a desk beside the window, a new bookshelf and a comfortable chair. A small framed photograph of Leon and me stood on the desk.
